ISDN. 7.3.1 ISDN is defined in two variations. The first variation is BI. BI consists of two 64Kbps Bearer (B) Channels and one 16 Kbps Data (D) Channel. The second variation is P.I. P.I. consists of 23 B (64Kbps) Channels and one 64Kbps D Channel. Both BI and P.I. B Channels may be used for voice, C.D. or PSD. The BI D Channel may be used for call related signaling, non-call related signaling or packet switched data. The P.I. D Channel may be used for call related signaling.
