Interpreting Services. All Educational Assistants in the following classifications: XX0- XXXX-XXX; EA2-ELL; EA2-LCD-Bilingual; EA2-ELL-Bilingual; EA2-NHQ- Language Interpreter; EA2-lnterpreter for Deaf, who provide interpreting services so students can access educational content shall be entitled to 100 minutes of dedicated preparation time per week. This time will be part of the normal duty day, separate from emailing and billing time, and will be used to read materials, research and rehearse language choices, preview videos, collaborate with colleagues and create interpretation plans.

Through this program, clients with disabilities will have an avenue to apply for financial resources for skills development opportunities. These training programs will be of short term duration, not eligible for student loan funding and available through local educational organizations and institutions as well as on-line. This program is a significant resource in providing a diversity of short term educational interventions in response to employers’ needs. It improves the level of basic and post-secondary education and work-related skills for persons with disabilities. It also enhances the knowledge base, which contributes to continuous improvement of labour market policies and programs for persons with disabilities. The target population is adult Nova Scotians with disabilities who are ineligible for Human Resource Investment Fund (HRIF) seeking short term training programs that are not student loan eligible. Risk Management The Purchaser will have in place well developed processes for: identifying key risks including risks to health and safety; evaluating and prioritising those risks based on their severity, the effectiveness of any controls you have and the probability of occurrence; dealing with those risks and where possible reducing them. Schedule 4: Monitoring and Evaluation Service Evaluation The Purchasers’ rights to evaluate As part of the ongoing management of this Agreement, the Purchasers may evaluate the provision of the Services by the Provider. This is part of the evaluation requirements of the Purchasers and contributes towards reporting to Ministers. The purpose of such evaluation is to monitor progress and quality of delivery of Services under this Agreement in terms of results against expected performance. Scope of evaluation The evaluation undertaken by the Purchasers may include (but shall not be restricted to): the processes outlined in this Agreement and used in the ongoing management of the Services; the prices of the Services provided in relation to the outcomes; satisfaction of any referrer with the Provider and the quality of the Services; satisfaction of Service Users with the Provider; and any other matters reasonably considered to be relevant by the Purchasers. Appointed person An appropriately qualified person may be appointed and retained by the Purchasers to conduct an evaluation of the Service. Prior to making the appointment, the Purchasers will consult with the Provider as to the suitability of the appointee to conduct the evaluation. In conducting such evaluations the appointee may (subject to the rights of Service Users or other persons receiving Services) attend the provision of Services, talk with service users and/or any of the service providers.

Supported Employment Extended Services: Number of agencies or programs: over 500 Description: At the completion of a program of supported employment services, Extended Service Providers will provide extended services as necessary to assist a supported employment client in maintaining employment. At a minimum, Extended Service Providers will contact those clients twice per month. The type and degree of ongoing support services will vary on a case-by-case basis and will be continued indefinitely. Unless otherwise requested by the employee, these interpreting services will be provided only by the Employer’s Language Services Department or an outside vendor selected by the Employer. The employee will submit such a request as far in advance as possible.
