Gender and Development Clause Samples

Gender and Development. The Borrower shall ensure that (a) the GAP is implemented in accordance with its terms; (b) the bidding documents and contracts include relevant provisions for contractors to comply with the measures set forth in the GAP; (c) adequate resources are allocated for implementation of the GAP; and (d) progress on implementation of the GAP, including progress toward achieving key gender outcome and output targets, are regularly monitored and reported to ADB.
Gender and Development. The Borrower shall ensure, and cause EPSO and HVEN to ensure, that the principles of gender equity aimed at increasing Project benefits and impacts on women in the Project area consistent with ADB’s Policy on Gender and Development (1998) are followed during implementation of the Project, including (a) equal pay to men and women for work of equal value; (b) enabling working conditions for women workers; and (c) taking necessary actions to encourage women living in the Project area to participate in the design and implementation of Project activities.

Gender and Development. The Commission shall endeavor to utilize its annual allocation for gender and development to fund and advance activities pertinent to gender and women’s rights.
Gender and Development. The identified strategies on policies and programs are a. Livelihood program; b. Employment assistance program; c. Health and safety program; d. Educational assistance program, e., Local government assistance, and f. Environment and Sanitation.
Gender and Development. The Borrower shall cause UWSCG to: (a) ensure that the gender action plan prepared for the Investment Program is implemented in a timely manner over the Investment Program period; and (b) submit semiannual reports to ADB.
Gender and Development. The Borrower shall ensure and cause each of MEF, MPWT, MRD and MOWRAM to ensure that the preparation, design, construction, implementation and operation of each Subproject comply with all measures and requirements set forth in the Gender Action Plan.

The Borrower, in coordination with the appropriate agencies, shall ensure the effective implementation of measures aimed at increasing Investment Program benefits and impacts on women in and around the project areas.
