FLOATERS. 31.01 Seniority employees who qualify will be eligible for a maximum of forty-eight (48) hours or six (6) Floaters. Individual personal days off may be taken in four (4) and eight (8) hour increments. The hours awarded to new full time employees will be pro-rated at one-half (1/2) day per month for the balance of the calendar year.
31.02 Floater days must be pre-approved.
31.03 The Company will respond at least one (1) week prior to the day requested when reasonably possible.
FLOATERS. The parties agree to establish a new job classification at the P1 level for a floater librarian position(s) to provide services throughout the various locations of the library system. The specifics of the job will follow current job descriptions. This position(s) can be either full time or for any specified minimum/maximum number of hours. It is agreed that the weekly range of minimum/maximum number of hours for this position(s) shall not be greater than five. The Library shall establish a home location for reporting purposes for each position and shall have the discretion to assign the employee to any location, at any time, on a reasonable basis, as required by the operational needs of the Library. The Library will give the employee as much advance notice of schedule changes as possible. The establishment of, and/or use of, such position(s) shall not limit the right of the Library to assign any other employee consistent with contract provisions. When the Library intends to fill this position(s), it shall be posted and filled in accordance with the provisions of Article XI. The provisions of Article X, Section 1, paragraphs 1, 5, and 6 and Section 2 (other than paragraph 2a) shall not apply to floaters. Except as otherwise specified herein, these position(s) shall be governed by all other terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.
FLOATERS. (a) A six (6) month trial of a new “Floater” classification shall be implemented within ninety (90) days of ratification of this collective agreement.
(b) The rate of pay shall be according to the job classification the Floater is covering.
(c) An employee accepting a Floater position must be willing and able to work in a variety of positions and shifts according to operational needs and locations and may be pre-scheduled to fill vacancies or as they occur.
(d) It is understood that start and stop times may vary, so therefore this position will be exempt from Article 17.01
FLOATERS fj) All full-time employees shall receive four (4) floater holidays, that must be taken between January 1 and December 31 of the calendar year or floater days not used by December 31st shall be paid out at eight (8) hours per floater in the pay period in which December 31st falls.
FLOATERS. Every employee covered by our Agreement, who completes six months of continuous service with the Company, is entitled to six (6) additional holidays with pay calculated at his regular occupational rate. To quality for holiday pay under this clause the same rules apply as for the payment of eight hours pay for statutory holidays. No wages will be paid under this clause, unless the employee actually takes the time off. If a shift worker is required to work extra shifts as a result of his mate taking either or both of these days off, he shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half for such extra shifts. (These holidays shall be taken on a schedule that will not interfere with the efficiency of operations. If an employee is required to work on any of these holidays after definite dates have been agreed upon, he shall be paid at the rate of time and on-half for all work performed on these days or for such extra shifts). No floating holiday shall be refused as long as men are available on the call-in list and provided that the granting of the floating holiday will not adversely affect operating efficiency. All requests for floating holidays will be answered promptly by the Personnel Manager. If floating holidays are requested after an operating schedule has been posted, and men are available to cover the floating holiday, without affecting operating efficiency: employees will move up on shift to cover the floaters. The Company will retain the right to cancel any floater one week prior to the request date, provided persons are not available to operate to efficiency. If a Floating Holiday is requested prior to 5:00 p.m. on the Monday prior to the posting of the schedule on that Wednesday, every reasonable effort will be made to grant the request. All floating holidays must be scheduled on or before February 1st, each year. If not scheduled by February 1st, the supervisor shall assign the outstanding floating holidays, after consulting with the employee. The employee will have the right to use a floater, whether scheduled or not, to make up 40 hours in a short work week.
FLOATERS. 3.3.1 During the course of a school day, "Floaters" shall be given at least one prep or clerical period when they will not be asked to cover a class or perform a duty. This prep or clerical period shall be in addition to their lunch period, when they also will not be asked to cover a class or perform a duty.
FLOATERS. As per Article 16.01 (b) of the collective agreement, at twelve (12) hours pay.
FLOATERS a) All full time employees shall receive three (3) floater holidays, that must be taken between January 1 and December 31 of the calendar year or floater days not used by December 31st shall be paid out at eight (8) hours per floater in the pay period in which December 31st falls.
b) Employees shall make written application to take a floater day. Floaters shall be approved, in writing, on a first come, first served basis by the employee’s Supervisor.
c) Floaters booked may not be cancelled with less than one
(1) weeks’ notice.
d) No request shall be unreasonably denied.
e) Floaters, when taken, shall be paid shift value for that floater.
f) When an employee commences employment in the current year, their floater days shall be earned on a percentage of total days worked in the current year, January 1 to December 31. 52
g) If any employee leaves the employment of the Corporation, their floater days shall be paid on a percentage of total days worked in the current year, January 1 to December 31.
FLOATERS. Regular and part-time employees who have completed sixty (60) days of continuous service shall be entitled to floater days, one of which shall be used to replace the Civic Holiday. Regular employees will receive one (1) additional floater day once have completed six (6) months of continuous service. The above mentioned must be taken before December of the current year. They must be scheduled, at least one (1 in advance, by mutual agreement between the employee and his immediate Supervisor, taking into account the operational needs and client service. Regular and part-time employees who have completed (36) of continuous service shall be entitled to one (I)additional day.
FLOATERS. A maximum of sixty (60) hours will be paid to each employee for floaters in a calendar year. The employee will be paid twelve (12) hours pay, as outlined in Article 22.03, for each floater.
