Fireplaces. Existing fireplaces are for aesthetic purposes only. For your safety, requests to use wood burning fireplaces must be submitted in writing to Wesleyan University. Approval to use a wood burning fireplace may be withheld at the sole discretion of the University if the fireplace is deemed not safe for use as-is.

Fireplaces. To reduce energy consumption Renter acknowledges that indoor gas fireplaces are not operational between June 1st – September 1st. If your cabin comes with an exterior wood burning fireplace specific instructions will be posted at the cabin regarding its use. Please note that absolutely no fire accelerant or wet or sappy wood should be used as this can create a fire hazard. Fire Rings Designated outdoor fire rings are located at each of our cabins. Fires are only permitted at these locations and must be contained within the fire ring. If you did not purchase firewood with your reservation, firewood may be purchased at most local vendors or through us directly (subject to availability). Fallen dead limbs may be used from the property; however, cutting down any limbs (dead or alive) is strictly prohibited. Please make sure any fallen limb taken from the property is dry (not green). Renter will be charged accordingly for disturbing any of the natural surroundings. Please help prevent the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer and other pests by not bringing firewood from outside of the Hocking Hills area.
Fireplaces. Extreme caution must be used whenever using the fireplace(s) in the Rental Home. Please read and follow all in-home instructions for safe use. A starter supply of firewood is provided. If more firewood is needed, you may purchase from a local store or contact the Windcliff office to arrange delivery. Firewood delivery may take up to 3 days. Never leave a lit or smoldering fire unattended!

Nothing shall be burned in gas log units and nothing other than hardwood or Duraflame type logs shall be burned in wood burning fireplaces. Xxxxx agrees that under no circumstances should a burning or smoldering fireplace be left unattended by guests. Firewood is provided October 1st through April 1st and we leave out a moderate bundle of wood with approximately 20-25 logs for guests to use. Absolutely NO liquid accelerant is allowed!! This is very dangerous to you and our property. FIRE PITS If a property has a fire pit, guests may use it year round, but firewood will not be provided from April 1st through September 30th. Guests are allowed to burn only wood, NO plastics, NO cans, No garbage or other debris. Xxxxx agrees that under no circumstances should a burning or smoldering fire pit be left unattended by guests. If a property does not offer a fire pit, guests will not make a pit for a fire. Creating a fire pit is considered to be damage and guests will be charged accordingly.
