Field Order Sample Clauses

Field Order. A Field Order is a written order to the Contractor signed by the County interpreting or clarifying the Contract Documents or directing the Contractor to perform minor changes in the Work. A minor change in the work is defined as a change not involving adjustment in the Contract Sum or an extension of the Contract Time and is not inconsistent with the intent of the Contract Documents. Such changes shall be effected by written order and shall be binding on the County and the Contractor. The Contractor shall carry out such orders promptly. Any work relating to the issuance of a Field Order shall be performed promptly and expeditiously and without additional cost to the County and within the Contract Time, unless the Contractor submits a Proposed Change Order, defined below, which is approved by the County. Field Orders shall be numbered consecutively by date.
Field Order. A written order issued by the Project Manager to the Contractor requiring the contract work to be performed in accordance with a change or changes in the work. A field order may (1) establish a price adjustment and/or time adjustment in an amount the Project Manager believes is reasonable for the change; or (2) may declare that the Project Manager does not intend to adjust contract time or price for the work; or (3) may request the Contractor to submit a proposal for an adjustment to the contract time and/or price by a certain date.

Field Orders shall be numbered consecutively by date. 109.06 – Common Carrier Rates (Reference the 2020 VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications) 109.07 - Eliminated Items If all or a part of any Contract item is determined to be unnecessary for the proper completion of the Work, the County may, upon written notice to the Contractor and issuance of an appropriate change order, eliminate all or part of such item from the Contract. Payment will not be made for such item except that the Contractor will be compensated for the actual cost of any work performed for such item and the net cost of materials purchased, including freight and tax costs, as evidenced by invoice. No additional compensation will be made for overhead or anticipated profit.
