ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS o Identifies, assesses and remediates students who have problems in the area of oral communication. o Organizes identified students into instructional groups and provides an instructional program designed to minimize and/or correct their speech disorder. o Consults with teachers of students identified as having problems or oral communication regarding needs of such students. o Assists teachers in identifying and referring students who have possible speech disorders. o Consults with teachers of students with hearing impairments regarding needs of such students. o Provides information and counseling for students, parents and teachers regarding hearing impairments. o Facilitates meetings (i.e. IEP conferences, parent meetings, in-services, etc.) for the purpose of developing Speech and Language plans and/or providing information regarding students’ functional goals. o Plans own schedule and caseload, within resource restraints, to meet identified needs. o Provides information to parents relating to community services available for speech and hearing impaired students. o Evaluates and makes periodic reports of the personal adjustment and educational progress to parents and school personnel of each speech and/or hearing impaired student. o Maintains required site and district records and makes reports as directed. o Serves as resource person for Special Education and other Pupil Personnel Services. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS. Respond and perform all the duties of the position of firefighter including, but not limited to; structural and Wildland fire suppression, ventilation, rescue, salvage, overhaul, extrication, emergency medical support, hazardous materials response/activities, and other related functions. Conduct analytical and operational studies and prepare recommendations and findings. Maintain records and prepare periodic, special, and technical reports relating to assigned areas of responsibility. Conducts detailed plan and permit reviews according to adopted IFC standard and local code. Coordinates and routinely works with municipal and county partners regarding development and fire code applicability. Manages and conducts routine business Life/Safety and Fire inspections on all businesses within the District. Manages and conducts code enforcement activities within the District. Manages the District Hazardous Materials Permit program. Manages the District Fire Prevention and Public Education Divisions. Serve as Duty Officer when assigned. Maintains ability to perform Fire Captain functions. Perform other related duties as assigned by District Fire Chief.

May act as the agent of the County in various negotiations, transactions, or in dealings with the media concerning legal matters. Anticipate and identify legal issues and counsels managers to develop legal strategies and solutions. Review new case law and legislation for impact on County business. Draft, review, and approve policies and procedures, ordinances, resolutions, regulations, bylaws, contracts, procurement documents and other legal documents and legal instruments. Review, research, interpret and prepare both written and oral opinions on a wide variety of legal issues. Represent the Board of County Commissioners to the public, county departments, and outside agencies and organizations; participates in outside community and professional groups and committees, provides technical assistance as necessary.
