AND OVERTIME. The normal work week shall be eight hours per day, forty hours per week, Monday through Friday. The schedule of hours is be posted on the bulletin board and agreed to by both parties. Section The schedule of hours referred to in Section shall be regular schedules pro- viding for regular steady shifts, not swing shifts. Swing shifts shall apply by a mutual agree- ment with the Union and the Management.
AND OVERTIME. 14.1 (a) “The normal hours of work per week” will consist of eight (8) hour shifts, Monday to Friday, each of which is inclusive of a twenty (20) minute paid meal break approximately half way through the shift.” The parties agree that the Company may implement 10-hour shifts inclusive of a thirty- (30) minute paid meal break as an option and as a flexible tool to meet business demands. When implementing a 10 hour shift schedule, the Company will make reasonable efforts to accommodate employees who will experience undue hardship if required to work the ten hour shift.
AND OVERTIME. This section is intended to provide the basis for calculation of, and payment for overtime and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work each day or each week, or of days of work each week.
AND OVERTIME. The working day for all full-time employees coveredby thisAgreement shall consist of eight (8) hours, exclusive of meal periods which, except under emergency conditions, shall be continuous and uninterrupted for a period or periods of not less than one-half hour each.
AND OVERTIME. 17.1 All day working employees except day working District Officers, Commanders and Fire Cause Investigators will have a choice between TOIL and paid overtime, when undertaking work outside of normal hours. Day working District Officers, Commanders and Fire Cause Investigators are provided with the private use of a motor vehicle in lieu of paid overtime and on call allowance payments.
AND OVERTIME. Employees are expected to attend work regularly. when unable to attend, the employee must notify the Manager, Relieving Manager or Supervisor, as soon as it is reasonably possible prior to the commencement of the scheduled shift of the employee, giving the reason why the employee is unable to attend, when he expects to return to work and how the Manager or Supervisor can call him relative to his absence. The basic work week for full-time employees will consist of forty (40) hours per week, made up of five (5) days of eight (8) consecutive hours’ duration.
AND OVERTIME. Upon completion of three and one-half continuous hours of work or overtime work, occurring at any time other than immediately preceding or immediately following an employee's regular shift, an employee becomes to a paid meal break of a one-half hour which the Municipality may permit to be started at any time within the three and one-half hour period but, except in an emergency, no later than the end of the three and one-half hours. Overtime, and Upon the completion of each successive three and one-half continuous hour8 of work or overtime work, the employee shall be given another paid of one-half hour which, except in an emergency, shall be taken at the end of each three and one-half hour work period. For each meal break given to an employee under this Section or the employee be paid the one-half hour at double regular rate of pay. Where by reason of an emergency it is not feasible to give a meal break at the designated time under this Section or it shall be taken as soon as practicable and in addition the Municipality shall be responsible for supplying a form of during the of the work at such time as the employee would have been otherwise entitled to a paid meal break. The of nourishment by the Municipality does not disqualify the employee from receiving the appropriate meal allowance under Section of the Agreement. The Municipality will not be responsible for supplying nourishment to in any other circumstances except as mentioned above in the cases of emergencies which preclude a meal break being taken at the designated time. Reimbursement of meal expenses will be according to the following scale and with reference to the paid meal set out in paragraph above, it being clearly that continuous of time must be worked to qualify both for the paid meal break and the following meal allowances, Overtime immediately preceding or immediately following a regular shift: Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($7.50) at the first break, and Two Dollars and Fifty Cents succeeding break.
AND OVERTIME. An employee who has been called in for emergency work after completing their regular shift, shall be guaranteed a minimum of four (4) hours' work or four (4) hours' pay at the regular rate in lieu thereof. Employees who are notified at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the necessity to work overtime will be guaranteed a minimum of two (2) hours' work or three (3) hours' pay at the regular rate in lieu thereof providing the overtime work is not an extension of the regular work day and requires the employee to make an additional trip to the plant. Failing twenty-four (24) hours' notice, such overtime shall be considered as Call-in and the conditions relating to payment as described in Article shall apply. In the event of conditions arising beyond the Company's control such as power failure, fire or flood, which necessitate cancellation of the overtime, the guarantee set out in and above shall not apply. The Company recognizes that there will be situations where an employee is asked to be on stand-by for consultation or return to work outside of normal working hours. Stand-by shall be defined as a requirement that a person makes themselves readily available for telephone, pager or radio consultation for a definite period of time outside of their normal working hours. This will include organizing others to correct abnormal situations. A person who so makes themselves available for call-in will receive two hours pay at straight time for any hour period. Four hours at time will be paid when the stand-by occurs on a holiday, Saturday or Sunday. It is understood that any compensated stand-by must be approved in advance by employee's manager. If an employee on standby is called in to work, the provision of Article also applies. It is understood that reasonable time off shall be permitted consideration for such factors as fatigue, disruption of personal schedule.
AND OVERTIME. A) The following paragraphs and section are intended to define the normal hours of work and shall not be construed as a guarantee by the Company of hours of work per day or per week, or of days of work per week. The standard work week for all employees shall consist of five eight working hour shifts of forty hours per week (Monday Friday). For a one (I) shift operation, the normal hours will com- mence between seven a.m. and nine a.m. In the event shift work is required, the second shift will normally commence between three and five and the third shift will normally commence between eleven and one a.m. Exceptions to the above hours of work will be: Tool Department Material Control Department Paint Department
