The "Active" clause defines the period during which an agreement, contract, or specific provision is in effect and enforceable. Typically, this clause specifies the start and end dates of the agreement, or the conditions under which the agreement becomes active and remains so. For example, it may state that the contract is active upon signature by both parties and continues until a specified termination date or event. The core practical function of this clause is to clearly establish when the rights and obligations of the parties are operative, thereby preventing disputes over the timing or duration of contractual commitments.
