Section 7.3.1. 7 The first shift shall consist of eight and one-half (8½) hours, for eight (8) hours compensation, 8 including a thirty (30) minute uninterrupted lunch period as near the middle of the shift as is 9 practicable, and also including a fifteen (15) minute first half and a fifteen (15) minute second 10 half rest period, both of which rest periods shall occur as near the middle of each half shift as is 11 practicable.

Section 7.3.1. 24 Bus drivers will be paid a minimum of one and one-half (1½) hours per a.m. or p.m. run, or 25 three (3) hours per route (a.m. and p.m.).

Section 7.3.1. 4 Each employee shall be entitled to a maximum of five (5) days leave with pay per occurrence 5 for absence caused by death, and five (5) days leave with pay per year for absence caused by 6 critical illness of an employee’s child, spouse, parent, sibling, parent-in-law, grandparent, 7 grandchild, or any other relative living in the same family unit. Such leave shall not be 8 deducted from sick leave. Bereavement leave is non-cumulative. The Superintendent may 9 grant additional days of leave. 11 Section 7.4. Parental Leave.
Section 7.3.1. 17 Unpaid lunch periods are the employee’s personal time. Employees may leave their assigned 18 campus during lunch periods provided any signing out procedures are complied with. If an 19 employee is directed to be “on call” during an unpaid thirty (30) minute lunch period and the 20 employee can: (a) pursue their mealtime adequately, (b) is not engaged in the performance of any 21 substantial duties, and (c) does not spend time predominately for the District’s benefit, then the 22 employee who is “on call” is considered relieved of duty and is not entitled to compensation.
