Academic Training. (a) The apprentice must attend all specified classroom training as required to meet the qualifications for the trade. Apprentices will attend classroom training under a shift release or evening schedule. Where practicable, reasonable efforts will be made to schedule classroom training on a day release basis. The schedule for classroom training will form part of the overall apprentice training schedule.

Academic Training. Employees shall be responsible for acquiring the academic training normally provided by public colleges and universities that they need for career advancement. Some expenses thus incurred may be refunded by the Corporation, in accordance with its training policy. Full-time study in a work-related field shall be a valid ground for receiving unpaid leave.
