Waiver of Tuition. 31.01 Permanent Employees and their dependents accepted in and registered for courses at the Undergraduate or Graduate rate established for «Canadian and other students with Permanent Residence» (Landed Immigrant) status are exempt from the tuition fees for credit courses. For Permanent Part-time Employees, the exemption is prorated to hours worked.

Waiver of Tuition. Article 46, Section A, Paragraph 4 is amended to read as follows:
Waiver of Tuition. It is the policy of the Board to assist members in meeting educational expenses for members, their spouses and dependents attending University. A lull-time member, his/her dependent as defined in the Board of Governors’ Tuition Waiver Policy approved September, or the spouse of a member with a full-time appointment, who enrols in a regularly scheduled University course for academic credit will have one hundred percent of the applicable tuition fee waived, but will be responsible for all incidental (i.e. lab, field trip, etc.) and activity fees related to that course. A member with an appointment as a Sessional Lecturer who in up to a maximum of two regularly-scheduled University full-course equivalents offered for academic credit in the combined Fall/Winter the Spring/Summer term immediately following the period of appointment shall have percent of the applicable tuition fee waived. Such member, whether full-time or Sessional, shall be responsible for all incidental (i.e. lab, field trip, etc.) and activity fees related to that course. In order to obtain a waiver of tuition fees a member must complete the appropriate application form and obtain from his/her Xxxx/Chief Librarian. Waiver of tuition is available only once for any particular course. When a course is repeated, the full tuition shall be payable by the member, spouse, or dependent. A spouse and/or dependent of a member who dies continue to be eligible for the waiver to tuition benefit until has completed the course(s) in which he/she is enrolled and for two additional academic years. Professional Faculty The Board shall reimburse each member who has a full-time appointment for including related to research and leaching improvement, made by the member in the calendar year on behalf of the Board as follows: In January The reimbursement shall be based on the actual numbers of months the member is employed and is reimbursed by the University during the allowance period. Should any member of the bargaining unit become disabled or die, members of his/her immediate family, to include "domestic partner", shall be allowed to enroll tuition free for state funded courses offered at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Members of the bargaining unit shall be allowed to enroll tuition free and fee free for non-DCE courses offered at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with the exception of applied music courses. Members of the bargaining unit and members of their immediate family shall be allowed to enroll tuition free for credit and non-credit courses offered in University Extension at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, provided that they shall not be counted in determining whether the course is canceled.
