Project Kickoff. The Project Consultant shall confer with representatives of the Owner to verify project scope of work and/or confirm the Program (as appropriate to the type of project), consisting of a detailed listing of all functions and spaces together with the square footage of each assignable space, gross square footage, and a description of the relationships between and among the principal programmatic elements. (If the project needs are so unique that a special analysis of the requirements is necessary to establish a more detailed program, such services may be authorized as Supplemental Services).

Project Kickoff. Consultant shall hold a meeting with City to kick off the project with City. Consultant will contact City via conference call, or in person to inquire about establishing project expectations and familiarize themselves with city-specific concerns. At the project kick off, Consultant will obtain necessary information and background from City to familiarize Consultant with local conditions and with City’s planning documents. Consultant will also use the kick off to confirm the objectives of the project laid out in this Contract with the City, refine the project schedule established in this Contract with City (meaning add more detail as necessary to the established schedule), and provide necessary information to City to allow City to prepare for the Project.

This is in contrast to the ‘waterfall method’ which creates an extended timeline of co-dependent project activities. • Examples of tasks to be completed during an Agile Sprint include: • Facilitate Client workshops, • Document Client business and technical requirements to be met through the use of the in-scope technology. This could include topics like customer service, quality, financial statement impacts, security and compliance, speed and agility. These would inform future phases of the engagement as key business parameters. • Summarize available algorithms or applications that are designed for specific computer systems • Develop, test and run software, whether based on currently availableopen source or open community’ software, or write and run proprietary software programs. • Develop potential use cases for Client to use the specific, in scope technology • Document ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ state of a specific business service or process, or a specific application eco-system (independent technology stack that supports a business service or process). • Share points of view and development tracks for key vendors in the in-scope technology under review. The kickoff will include overviews of the project organization, project tracking and reporting tools, and the implementation approach. Attendees will leave the kickoff with an understanding of the approaching project activities and their respective roles within each of the activities.
