Public Engagement definition

Public Engagement means different things to different people; you will see this in the wide variety of activities described in this publication. We find the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement’s definition helpful which states that public engagement is:
Public Engagement means direct interaction with members of the public for the purpose of sharing information, increasing awareness or obtaining feedback or input related to a specific topic or subject relating to visiting or living in Banff. Examples include Town initiatives such as public education on waste diversion tactics for households, input on Town policies, Parks Canada interpretive activities on wildlife, and not-for-profit community group activities. These may exist within a larger Special Event or constitute a distinct Special Event.
Public Engagement means the EAO’s public engagement on an Application as identified in the Amendment Procedures;

More Definitions of Public Engagement

Public Engagement means sharing your research conclusions and outcomes with the public. The 'public' includes individuals and groups who do not currently have a formal relationship with a higher education institution (HEI) through teaching, research or knowledge transfer (HEFCE).
Public Engagement means a meeting that is not a duly convened meeting for purposes of conducting business and making motions; it is merely a meeting at which some or all Council members may attend for purposes of discussing a topic or topic and obtaining feedback from OKIB membership;
