OF UNION DUES. All employees shall, when working in a position within the bargaining unit described in Article hereof, be required as a condition of employment to be a member of one of the Unions forming the Council before commencing employment and shall be required to maintain such membership while working within the bargaining unit for the duration of this Agreement. The Union will not unreasonably withhold membership from anyone who is requested in writing by the Employer. It is further agreed that when a new employee is hired, he will be required to apply for a clearance slip from Labourers' Union Local or Teamsters' Union Local as the case may be, before starting work, except in emergency circumstances where the Employer requires the employee to start work immediately in which event the employee must apply for clearance at the Union Hall not later than the Saturday following commencement of employment. The Employer shall supply a letter to the employee confirming he has been hired. Each employee shall, when working in a position within the bargaining unit described in Article above, be required as a condition of employment to have his regular monthly union dues and any required working dues checked off and the Union agrees to duly inform the Employer of the amounts of such union dues and working dues and any changes in the amounts. The Employer agrees to make such deductions from the first pay issued to the employees each calendar month and remit the same to the Union not later than the 15th day of the following month to the of the Union. The Employer shall, when remitting such dues, name the employees and their social insurance numbers from whose pay such deductions have been made. It is further agreed and understood that the Employers will receive at least days notice of any changes in the amounts of working dues. In the case of Teamsters Local when Employers issue slips, they shall include the total amount of union dues. The above shall apply to Labourers Local and Teamsters Local for all schedules of this Collective Agreement. /TEAMSTERS LOCAL ONLY) The Employer further agrees on receipt of proper authorization to deduct Teamsters Local Union initiation fees or fees in two weekly installments and to remit the said deductions to Teamsters Local Union when union dues are remitted on or before the 15th of each month.

OF UNION DUES. The Employer agrees to deduct from the pay of all Employees whatever sum is authorized by the Union for regular union dues. Such amount shall be a percentage of Employee’s pay deducted each pay period and shall be remitted not later than the day of the month following the deduction to the Canadian Union of Public Employees, National Secretary Treasurer. OF UNION DUES. Each employee hired on or after the date of signing of this Agreement, shall, as a condition of employment, acquire and maintain membership in the Union for the duration of this Agreement. Each employee who, on the date of signing of this Agreement, is a member of the Union and each employee who shall hereafter become a member after that date shall, as a condition of employment, maintain membership in the Union for the duration of this Agreement. A standard membership and dues deduction authorization form hereinafter referred to as acceptable to the Company shall be supplied by the Union. The Company shall deduct Union dues including, where applicable, initiation fees and assessments, on a biweekly basis, the wages of each employee covered by this Agreement. The amount of dues shall be calculated in accordance with the Union’s Constitution.

The remittance and the form shall be accompanied by a statement containing the following information: A list of the names of all employees from whom dues were deducted and the amount of dues deducted; A list of the names of all employees whom no deductionshave been made and reasons; This information shall be sent to both Union Addresses identified in article in such form as shall be directed by the Union to the Company. The Union shall indemnifyand savethe Companyharmless against all claims or other forms of liability that may arise out of any actions taken by the Company in compliance with this article. The Company, when preparing slips for the employees, will enter the amount of Union dues paid by the employee during the previous year.
