OF UNION DUES. All employees shall, when working in a position within the bargaining unit described in Article hereof, be required as a condition of employment to be a member of one of the Unions forming the Council before commencing employment and shall be required to maintain such membership while working within the bargaining unit for the duration of this Agreement. The Union will not unreasonably withhold membership from anyone who is requested in writing by the Employer. It is further agreed that when a new employee is hired, he will be required to apply for a clearance slip from Labourers' Union Local or Teamsters' Union Local as the case may be, before starting work, except in emergency circumstances where the Employer requires the employee to start work immediately in which event the employee must apply for clearance at the Union Hall not later than the Saturday following commencement of employment. The Employer shall supply a letter to the employee confirming he has been hired. Each employee shall, when working in a position within the bargaining unit described in Article above, be required as a condition of employment to have his regular monthly union dues and any required working dues checked off and the Union agrees to duly inform the Employer of the amounts of such union dues and working dues and any changes in the amounts. The Employer agrees to make such deductions from the first pay issued to the employees each calendar month and remit the same to the Union not later than the 15th day of the following month to the of the Union. The Employer shall, when remitting such dues, name the employees and their social insurance numbers from whose pay such deductions have been made. It is further agreed and understood that the Employers will receive at least days notice of any changes in the amounts of working dues. In the case of Teamsters Local when Employers issue slips, they shall include the total amount of union dues. The above shall apply to Labourers Local and Teamsters Local for all schedules of this Collective Agreement. /TEAMSTERS LOCAL ONLY) The Employer further agrees on receipt of proper authorization to deduct Teamsters Local Union initiation fees or fees in two weekly installments and to remit the said deductions to Teamsters Local Union when union dues are remitted on or before the 15th of each month.
OF UNION DUES. The Employer agrees to deduct from the pay of all Employees whatever sum is authorized by the Union for regular union dues. Such amount shall be a percentage of Employee’s pay deducted each pay period and shall be remitted not later than the day of the month following the deduction to the Canadian Union of Public Employees, National Secretary Treasurer. The Employer shall, when remitting such dues, name the Employeesfrom whose pay such Canadian Union of Public Employeesand its Local and County of Golden Plough Lodge Page deductions were made and also the names of those Employeeswho have the employment of the Employer since the last payment. Negotiating Committee It is agreed that a negotiating committee composed of not more than three (3) Employees plus the President of the Local shall be paid at their regular hourly rate for time lost from work for the purpose of attending negotiating meetings up to and including Arbitration with the Employer. Such payment shall be limited to the length of the meeting and shall not exceed the amount the Employee would normally have earned for such regular working day. It is further agreed that the Employer's negotiating committee shall be composed of at least the Administrator or designate of the Golden Plough Lodge, the Chief Administrative Officer or designate of the County, and a spokespersonfor the County. OF UNION DUES. The Employer shall deduct from the pay of each of the bargaining unit, on every pay, such Union dues, fees and assessments as is prescribed by the Constitution of the Union. The Employer shall remit the amounts so deducted prior to the tenth (1 day of the month following, by xxxxxx, as directed by the Union, payable to the Financial Secretary of the Union. The Corporation agrees to deduct Union dues and special Union assessments applicable to all members and authorized under the Union's Constitution from the pay of every employee within the scope of this agreement, and to transmit the total amount of such deductions to the local Union Treasurer by the 15th of the month following the month such deductions are made. Deductions shall be taken from each pay and shall be accompanied by a list of employees whose wages the deductions have been made. The Corporation further agrees to record all employees' contributions of Union dues paid annually, exclusive of special assessments, on the individual employees' T statements of remuneration paid issued annually by the Corporationfor income tax purposes. The Union agrees to save harmless and to indemnify the Corporation for any action that may arise through the deduction of dues and special assessments from any employee's pay, on behalf of and at the instruction of the Union. ARTICLE UNION
OF UNION DUES. Each employee hired on or after the date of signing of this Agreement, shall, as a condition of employment, acquire and maintain membership in the Union for the duration of this Agreement. Each employee who, on the date of signing of this Agreement, is a member of the Union and each employee who shall hereafter become a member after that date shall, as a condition of employment, maintain membership in the Union for the duration of this Agreement. A standard membership and dues deduction authorization form hereinafter referred to as acceptable to the Company shall be supplied by the Union. The Company shall deduct Union dues including, where applicable, initiation fees and assessments, on a biweekly basis, the wages of each employee covered by this Agreement. The amount of dues shall be calculated in accordance with the Union’s Constitution.
OF UNION DUES. All employees who are now members of the Union shall remain members of the Union and all new employees shall become members of the Union after they have completed their probationary period as a condition of employment. Employees will be required to permit the deduction from their pay, each pay period, of an amount equivalent to the regular dues of the Union commencing the case of new employees at the time of the regular monthly on the first day of employment. Such deductions shall be made and remitted by the Employer to the Treasurer of the Local not later than the fifth (5th) day of the month following the month when such deductions are made. Within fifteen (15) days, such deductions so remitted shall be accompanied by a list of those employees who have been added to or deleted from the master list. Employees will be required to permit the deduction from their pay, from time to time, any special or additional dues properly assessed in accordance with The Canadian Union of Public Employees Local (Maintenance, Caretaker, Bus Driver) Collective Agreement September August Page the Local Union by-laws as approved by the National Union. The Employer agrees to deduct union dues from summer students who earn an hourly wage of ten (10) dollars or more. The Union agrees to save the Employer harmless from all deductions made from an employee’s pay as provided herein.
OF UNION DUES. The Company shall deduct Union dues including, where applicable, initiation fees and assessments, on a weekly basis, from the total earnings of each employee covered by this agreement. The amount of dues shall be calculated in accordance the Union's Constitution. All dues, initiation fees and assessments shall be remitted to the Union forthwith and in any event no later than days following the last day of the month in which the remittance was deducted. The remittance shall be sent to the International Secretary Treasurerof the United Steelworkers, Box Postal Station 'A', Toronto, Ontario in such form as shall be directed by the International Union to the Company along with a completed Dues Remittance Form A copy of the Dues Remittance will also be sent to the Union office designated by the Area Coordinator. The remittance and the form shall be accompanied by a statement containing the following information: A list of the names of all employees from whom dues were deducted and the amount of dues deducted; A list of the names of all employees whom no deductionshave been made and reasons; This information shall be sent to both Union Addresses identified in article in such form as shall be directed by the Union to the Company. The Union shall indemnifyand savethe Companyharmless against all claims or other forms of liability that may arise out of any actions taken by the Company in compliance with this article. The Company, when preparing slips for the employees, will enter the amount of Union dues paid by the employee during the previous year.
