Work Hardening definition

Work Hardening means an individualized, medically prescribed and monitored, work oriented treatment process. The process involves the worker participating in simulated or actual work tasks that are structured and graded to progressively increase physical tolerances, stamina, endurance, and productivity to return the worker to a specific job.
Work Hardening means a process approved by the employee’s physician and, if necessary, by the Employer’s physician after an independent medical examination (IME), as part of rehabilitation designed to facilitate an employee’s return to line duty if possible.
