Tampering definition

Tampering means the unauthorized connecting, disconnecting, or causing to be connected or disconnected, or in any other manner interfering with the operation of the Company’s meters, pipes, conduits, other equipment or attachments, or as otherwise provided by this Tariff (see Sections 6.6, 6.13, and 6.15).
Tampering means inactivation, adjustment or modification of the emission control system, including any software or other logical control elements of such a system, that has the effect, whether intended or not, of worsening the emissions performance of the engine;

Examples of Tampering in a sentence

  • Tampering with meters and other facilities of the Cooperative violates this Tariff, and under AS 42.20.030 may result in liability for three times the amount of actual damages sustained and three times the value of the service taken.

  • Tampering with a meter or plumbing will subject the consumer to disconnection of service without notice.

  • Tampering with the Telematics shall be considered a breach of this Agreement.
