Summer Student definition

Summer Student means a student employed to do work of the bargaining unit with and/or under the direction of a member or members of the MCSTC. Summer Students shall only be employed from May 1 to Labour Day.
Summer Student means a person who is temporarily employed for a defined period of time typically not to exceed four (4) months per year and is attending secondary or a recognized post secondary institution and is intending to return to their studies following their work term
Summer Student means the student whose work is funded in accordance with the Terms and Conditions contained below.

Examples of Summer Student in a sentence

  • Students hired for summer employment during the period May 1 to September 30 in accordance with the current Letter of Understanding shall be paid the Summer Student rate as provided in Appendix “A”.

  • Summer Student Employees as defined in Article 35:07 shall be considered Casual/Seasonal Employees.

  • A resident so removed has recourse as described in the Residential Life Summer Student Guide.

  • Summer Student employees shall only be entitled to the provisions of this Agreement relating to wage rates, hours of work, rest periods, and those benefits to which they are entitled by virtue of Federal or Provincial Government statutes.

  • Enrolled Summer Student Visitors (Non-matriculated Stanford students) Graduate and undergraduate visiting students who are enrolled for the summer can apply for housing for the eight-week summer term during the Summer Lottery.


More Definitions of Summer Student

Summer Student means a temporary part-time employee who was engaged on the understanding that the period of employment shall be restricted to April 1st – September 30th inclusive in a given year with no ability to extend in that referenced year. The summer student employee must provide proof to the Company that they are enrolled in secondary or post secondary education program and are returning to school in the fall. A summer student may be re-engaged in each successive year as a summer student as long as they remain in a secondary or post
Summer Student means a student who is enrolled in a summer program.
Summer Student is an employee who: (i) Is hired for a period of six (6) months or less for specific periods of the year. Summer Student employees shall be eligible for recall for subsequent seasons; (ii) The provisions of this Agreement shall (unless otherwise stated) apply to Summer Student employees except for the following Articles:
Summer Student means an employee who works for the Employer anytime between May 1 and September 10 using grants or funding programs relating to high school and/or post-secondary students; and
Summer Student is a Student hired for the summer period (from the Victoria Day Weekend to the Labour Day Weekend) to fill the position(s) of Traffic Assistant(s), Office Assistant(s) and/or Ambassadors. That period of employment may be extended by mutual agreement of the parties. Students shall receive a rate of pay of $15.90/hour effective date of ratification of this agreement. On April 1 of each year this rate of pay will be increased by the same percentage of base salary adjustment within Appendix C. The Corporation may hire up to four (4) students for the summer period. Students shall be subject to provisions of the Agreement but shall not be eligible for: • vacation, sick, injury on duty and special leaves (including court leave and parental leave); and • pension and group insurance benefits and • performance awards
Summer Student means an employee who: (i) is not part of the Employer’s regular work force; and (ii) either: (A) attended high school in the City of ▇▇▇▇▇▇ or within 50 kilometers of the City of ▇▇▇▇▇▇ within the past three years; or (B) in the school year immediately prior to employment attended a post-secondary institution and is a permanent resident of the Yukon who, when not attending school, resides in the City of ▇▇▇▇▇▇ or within 50 kilometers of the City of ▇▇▇▇▇▇;
