Summer Session definition

Summer Session means the time including all academic offerings during the pre-session, the regular four- week and eight-week sessions, and the post-session.
Summer Session is used to identify that portion of the annual academic program that may be offered between the first Monday following June commencement and September 15. The academic work offered during the Summer Session functions under the academic requirements specified within the official University bulletin (schedule of classes) and/or WOU website.
Summer Session means the intersession between academic years. Summer session is not part of the 175 day academic year; it commences on the first workday following the end of the academic year and terminates on the last workday preceding the start of the new academic year. Summer session assignments shall be governed by Article 26 of this Agreement.

Examples of Summer Session in a sentence

  • Shall be determined by the employing Department and conveyed to the employee as soon as possible and in any event no later than July 31 for the Fall/Winter session and March 31 for the Summer session.

  • No later than April 30th for the Fall/Winter session, or January 15th for the Summer session, the employing Department shall request, in writing, confirmation of the employee’s intention to take up the employee’s next contractually obligated appointment in that session and, if the individual does intend to take up such appointment, to indicate any preferences.

  • Each academic session consists of two terms; in the Fall/Winter session, the “F term” (September to December), and the “S term” (January to May); in the Summer session the “F term” (May to June) and the “S term” (July to August).
