Subrogation definition

Subrogation means the Plan's right to pursue and place a lien upon the Covered Person's claims for medical or dental charges against the other person.

Examples of Subrogation in a sentence

Subrogation means the Plan's right to exercise the Covered Person’s rights to Recover or pursue Recovery from a Third Party who is liable to the Covered Person for expenses for which the Plan has paid or may agree to pay benefits.
Subrogation provision, located within the “General Provisions” section of the policy, is hereby deleted and replaced with the following:
Subrogation means right of the state to stand in place of the client in the collection of third party resources (TPR).

Subrogation means that we may collect directly from the third party to the extent we have paid for third-party liabilities. Because we have paid for the Member’s injuries, we, rather than the Member, are entitled to recover those expenses. Prior to accepting any settlement of the Member’s claim against a third party, the Member must notify us in writing of any terms or conditions offered in settlement and must notify the third party of our interest in the settlement established by this provision.
