If, during the workday, a Level 2 or 3 Snow Emergency is declared, the employee may end his/her shift, at no penalty.
Second shift custodians may be expected to work on a calamity day, unless the Darke County Sheriff Office declares a Level 2 or 3 Snow Emergency, prior to their shift.
If the County where the member resides in or commutes through is on a Level 2 Snow Emergency, the member will contact his/her immediate supervisor to inform him/her of the situation and the member will not be required to report to work that day.
In the event that the Sheriff or his designee declares a Level Three Snow Emergency for Erie County, bargaining unit employees required to work during the declared emergency period shall be compensated at double time their hourly rate for the same number of hours that are actually worked during the emergency.
An employee who lives in, or must travel through, a County where a Level 3 Snow Emergency (or its equivalent) is declared will be excused from work, with pay, for the day, and shall suffer no attendance consequences nor be required to “make-up” the time missed.
