Skilled Nursing Facility definition

Skilled Nursing Facility means an institution or part thereof that is licensed as a Skilled Nursing Facility by the State of Florida, and is accredited as a Skilled Nursing Facility by The Joint Commission or recognized as a Skilled Nursing Facility by the Secretary of Health and Human Services of the United States under Medicare.

  • Before you are admitted as an Inpatient to a Hospital, Skilled Nursing Facility or other facility or before you receive certain Covered Healthcare Services and supplies, you must request and obtain approval, known as Authorization.

Skilled Nursing Facility means that term as defined in section 20109 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.20109.

Skilled Nursing Facility means a health facility or a distinct part of a hospital which provides the following basic services: skilled nursing care and supportive care to patients whose primary need is for availability of skilled nursing care on an extended basis. It provides 24-hour inpatient care and, as a minimum, includes medical, nursing, dietary, pharmaceutical services and an activity program. The facility shall have effective arrangements, confirmed in writing, through which services required by the patients, but not regularly provided within the facility, can be obtained promptly when needed.
