Second Unit definition

Second Unit means an attached or a detached residential dwelling unit which provides complete independent living facilities for one or more persons. It shall include permanent provisions for living, sleeping, eating, cooking, and sanitation on the same parcel as the single- family dwelling is situated.
Second Unit means, without limitation, the process of setting up, lighting, and photography of dramatic sequences without principal talent and all sequences utilizing geographically inaccessible or undesirable locations for a main unit, with a separate call.
Second Unit means a smaller but independent unit on the same site as a new or existing single family house. The second unit can be part of the main house or it can be located in a detached building. All second units must have an exterior entry, which can be by stairway. For a complete discussion of second units, see page 26.

Examples of Second Unit in a sentence

  • In the event of disagreement between the Employer and the Director as to the choice of the person to be engaged as Second Unit Director, the Employer shall submit to the Director a list of three (3) qualified individuals any one (1) of whom would be approved as Second Unit Director and the Director shall be obligated to approve one (1) of such three (3) persons.

  • Where the Second Unit work was not contemplated prior to the start of principal photography, the Director shall be informed in advance of such work.

  • The Director shall be given the opportunity to consult with the Second Unit Director with respect to the manner in which the second unit work is to be performed and may delegate the supervision of the assemblage of second unit photography to the Second Unit Director.

  • The Director's minimum preparation time for second units shall be: Number of Second Unit Shooting Days With More than Four (4) Hours of Second Unit Work Each Day*, ** Minimum Day(s) of Preparation * No preparation time is required when the time spent by the Director on second unit directorial duties does not exceed four (4) hours on any given day, except when the second unit work involves stunts and/or special effects that raise material safety concerns.
