Running at Large definition

Running at Large means any dog while roaming, running or self-hunting off the property of its owner or custodian and not under its owner's or custodian's immediate control.

Running at Large means any animal as defined herein that is found any place other than the premises of the Owner and is not under control of any person.

Examples of Running at Large in a sentence

• In addition to mirroring some non-felony state law violations, such as assault, stealing, and traffic violations, the code establishes housing violations, such as High Grass and Weeds; requirements for permits to rent an apartment or use the City’s trash service; animal control ordinances, such as Barking Dog and Dog Running at Large; and a number of other violations, such as Manner of Walking in Roadway.

• If the Canine Control Officer is unable to seize any dog found to be running at large, contrary to the provisions of this by-law, and the owner of such dog is known, a voluntary payment ticket may be issued ordering a fee to be paid by the owner, known as an Running at Large fee, as provided on Schedule “C” attached.

• An Animal within a Platted Subdivision that is a Nuisance Animal or an Animal Running at Large shall be taken by any law enforcement officer and impounded in an enclosure or Animal Shelter designated by the County for that purpose, and there confined in a humane manner.

• Animals within Platted Subdivisions that are Nuisance Animals or Animals Running at Large may be seized and impounded as provided in Section 5 below.

• In responding to a Running at Large call, the Canine Control Officer may issue an Offence Notice to the owner or person responsible for the dog as set out in Schedule “C” attached.

More Definitions of Running at Large

Running at Large means to be found in any place other than the premises of the owner of the animal and not under the control of any person;

Running at Large means a dog being elsewhere than on the premises of the dog owner or any person have custody or control and not being under the immediate control of a responsible person.

Running at Large means the running at large of a dog when it is found on a highway or other public space or any other property other than the property where it is usually kept, and not under the control of any person. For the purposes of this By‐Law, “Run at Large” shall have a corresponding meaning to “Running at Large”.

Running at Large means off the owner’s legal premise and not under the control of the owner or some other person.

Running at Large means to be found in any place other than the premises of the owner of the dog and not under the physical control of any person by means of a leash held by the said person.

Running at Large means the dog or cat is beyond the boundaries of the land occupied by the owner, possessor or harborer or keeper of the said dog or cat, or beyond the boundaries of any lands where it may be with the permission of the owner or occupant of the said land and when it is not under control by being:

Running at Large means an animal that is not on the property of the owner or not on a leash and/or under the control of a responsible person.
