Residential care home definition

Residential care home or “RCH” means a residential care home as defined and licensed under the Residential Care Homes (Elderly Persons) Ordinance (Cap. 459), or as defined and issued with a licence or certificate of exemption under the Residential Care Homes (Persons with Disabilities) Ordinance (Cap. 613), or the boarding section of a special school subvented under the Education Bureau, or the residential facilities of the Skills Centre (Tuen Mun) of Vocational Training Council, or a nursing home as referred to in the Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Maternity Homes Registration Ordinance (Cap. 165) which provides residential services for persons aged 60 or above in Hong Kong.
Residential care home means any home, establishment, or institution licensed pursuant to the provisions of the Residential Care Act other than a hotel, motel, fraternity or sorority house, or college or university dormitory, which offers or provides residential accommodations, food service, and supportive assistance to any of its residents or houses any resident requiring supportive assistance. The residents shall be persons who are ambulatory and essentially capable of managing their own affairs, but who do not routinely require nursing care; provided, the term "residential care home" shall not mean a hotel, motel, fraternity or sorority house, or college or university dormitory, if the facility operates in a manner customary to its description and does not house any person who requires supportive assistance from the facility in order to meet an adequate level of daily living;
Residential care home or "rest home" means a community residence that furnishes, in single or multiple facilities, food and shelter to two or more persons unrelated to the proprietor and, in addition, provides services that meet a need beyond the basic provisions of food, shelter and laundry and may qualify as a setting that allows residents to receive home and community-based services funded by state and federal programs;
