Rare definition

Rare means when used in the context of species or freshwater wetland types, those invertebrate and vertebrate animals or plant species or those freshwater wetland types that are listed as threatened, endangered, of special interest or of special concern by the Department or under the Federal Endangered Species Act, 16 U.S.C. § 1531 et. seq. For the purpose of these Rules bogs, fens, Atlantic white cedar swamps, floodplain forests and freshwater pond shores with coastal plain species are considered rare freshwater wetlands in Rhode Island.
