Preference eligible definition

Preference eligible means a vet- eran, disabled veteran, sole survivor veteran, spouse, widow, widower, or parent who meets the definition of ‘‘preference eligible’’ in 5 U.S.C. 2108.

Preference eligible means (1) a veteran who has been honorably separated from the armed forces of the United States; or (2) the spouse of an honorably separated veteran with a service-connected disability; or (3) the unremarried spouse of a deceased veteran who was honorably separated from the armed forces of the United States.
