PIHP definition

PIHP means a specialty prepaid inpatient health plan for Medicaid mental health services, services to persons with developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services as described in section 232b of the mental health code, 1974 PA 258, MCL 330.1232b.
PIHP means Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan as described in 42 C.F.R. § 438.2. A PIHP is an entity that: 1) Provides medical services to beneficiaries under contract with the Department of Health Care Services, and on the basis of prepaid capitation payments, or other payment arrangement that does not use state plan rates; 2) Provides, arranges for, or otherwise has responsibility for the provision of any inpatient hospital or institutional services for its beneficiaries; and 3) Does not have a comprehensive risk contract.
PIHP means an entity designated by the department as a regional entity or a specialty prepaid inpatient health plan for Medicaid mental health services, services to individuals with developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services. Regional entities are described in section 204b of the mental health code, 1974 PA 258, MCL 330.1204b. Specialty prepaid inpatient health plans are described in section 232b of the mental health code, 1974 PA 258, MCL 330.1232b.
