Patient Encounter definition

Patient Encounter means, for the purpose of determining whether a Medical Staff Member “regularly treats” patients at the Medical Center, (a) an inpatient or outpatient admission of a patient during which the Medical Staff Member has direct, in-person contact with the patient; or
Patient Encounter means an interaction in a health care facility, health care clinic, or office in which a patient can see a health care provider delivering services directly to a patient.
Patient Encounter means any encounter where medical treatment and/or evaluation and management services are provided. For purposes of this rule, the entire course of an inpatient stay in a healthcare facility or treatment in an emergency department is considered a single patient encounter.

  • All Mississippi Patient Encounter Forms are due in the BEMS office by the seventh day after the close of the preceding month.

More Definitions of Patient Encounter

Patient Encounter means any action on the part of the Practitioner to provide medical or other patient care services to the patient in the Hospital or its facilities, including, without limitation, admission, treatment, performance or interpretation of diagnostic tests, or consultation, and may include the supervision of house staff and medical students; provided however, that Patient Encounter shall not include the ordering of tests on an out-patient basis.
Patient Encounter means a professional contact between a Practitioner and a patient whether an admission, consultation, or diagnostic, operative, or invasive procedure at the Hospital.
Patient Encounter means a set or sets of DICOM images from a single modality relating to a single patient within a 24 hour period that are obtained by a Customer and electronically communicated for interpretation within a 24 hour period to a Licensee server running the Synapse Software, and includes such set or sets of images that are transferred from a health care institution to another Customer utilizing Licensee’s infrastructure.
Patient Encounter means: (a) an inpatient or outpatient admission of a patient during which the subject Medical Staff Member has direct, in-person contact with the patient; (b) the performance of a procedure at the Hospital or a Hospital-licensed facility; or (c) the provision of diagnostic or therapeutic services for a patient at the Hospital or a Hospital-licensed facility.
