Parental Absence definition

Parental Absence means an Employee's absence (i) by reason of the Employee's pregnancy, (ii) by reason of the birth of the Employee's child, (iii) by reason of the placement of a child with the Employee in connection with the Employee's adoption of the child, or (iv) for purposes of caring for such child for a period beginning immediately after such birth or placement.
Parental Absence means an Employee’s absence from work (a) by reason of pregnancy of the Employee; (b) by reason of birth of a child of the Employee; (c) by reason of the placement of a child with the Employee in connection with adoption of such child by such Employee; or (d) for purposes of caring for such child for a period beginning immediately following such birth or placement.

Examples of Parental Absence in a sentence

  • Solely for purposes of determining whether a one-year break in service has occurred for eligibility or vesting purposes, during a Parental Absence an Employee shall be credited with the Hours-of-Service which otherwise would normally have been credited to the Employee but for such absence, or in any case in which such hours cannot be determined, eight Hours-of-Service per day of such absence.

  • Solely for purposes of determining whether a one-year Period of Severance has occurred for eligibility or vesting purposes, the consecutive 12-month period beginning on the first anniversary of the first date of a Parental Absence shall not be a one-year Period of Severance.

  • The period between the first and second anniversaries of the first day of the Parental Absence is not a Period of Service and is not a Period of Severance.

  • Solely to determine whether a one-year Period of Severance has occurred for eligibility or vesting purposes for an Employee who is absent from service beyond the first anniversary of the first day of a Parental Absence, Severance from Service Date is the second anniversary of the first day of the Parental Absence.

  • Solely for purposes of determining whether a one-year Period of Severance has occurred for eligibility or vesting purposes, the 12-consecutive month period beginning on the first anniversary of the first date of a Parental Absence shall not be a one-year Period of Severance.
