Parental Absence definition
Parental Absence means an Employee's absence (i) by reason of the Employee's pregnancy, (ii) by reason of the birth of the Employee's child, (iii) by reason of the placement of a child with the Employee in connection with the Employee's adoption of the child, or (iv) for purposes of caring for such child for a period beginning immediately after such birth or placement.

Examples of Parental Absence in a sentence
Solely for purposes of determining whether a one-year break in service has occurred for vesting purposes, during a Parental Absence an Employee shall be credited with the Hours of Service which would otherwise have been credited to the Employee but for such absence, or in any case in which such hours cannot be determined, eight Hours of Service per day of such absence.
