Parental leave shall be granted for up to thirty-five (35) weeks in duration if the employee also took pregnancy leave and thirty-seven (37) weeks in duration if she did not.
Parental leave may extend up to six (6) months, including time covered by the family medical leave, during the first year after the child's birth or placement.
Parental leave must commence no later than the first anniversary date of the birth or adoption of the child or of the date on which the child comes into the actual care and custody of the employee.
