Open Time definition

Open Time shall include, but not be limited to the following: 1. All known trip sequences not assigned to a Flight Attendant, including extra sections, Standby Reserve Duty (Reserves only), supplementary time, flights rescheduled as a result of cancellations, sequences made available after the monthly schedule is awarded, and time dropped through TTS; 2. Sequences vacated by lineholders (e.g., leaves of absence, sick leave, jury duty, some charters, publicity flights, Union Business, etc.).
Open Time. All uncovered flying at any point in time until picked up or assigned.
Open Time means flying not awarded or assigned to a specific Flight Attendant.

Examples of Open Time in a sentence

  • Reserve repositioning will commence at the same time as Open Time trading in the applicable domicile.

  • Upon notice of cancelling the trial, the Association and the Company will immediately begin negotiations on a successor Open Time System.

  • If the trial creates a liability that cannot be supported, either the Association or the Company may decide to end the Open Time Trial prior to twelve months (as indicated in F.10., below) provided the parties have attempted to modify the Threshold Sequence Number pursuant to F.8., above.

  • Crew Scheduling will be responsible for approving sequence trades and giveaways, keeping reserve board updated, sick calls, Open Time and any emergencies that may arise out of rescheduling.

More Definitions of Open Time

Open Time means a rotation(s) not awarded on a regular line in the initial line awards, or that otherwise becomes available. “Operating experience” (OE) means performing the duties of Captain or First Officer under the supervision of an LCP under FAR 121.434 (c) and (f).
