Where National Grid NTS has assessed that any actions taken by it pursuant to the National Grid Safety Case and any actions taken by Users in response to the notification made under paragraph 5.2.8 have not been or, in National Grid NTS's opinion, would not be sufficient to prevent a breach of a Safety Monitor, National Grid NTS shall liaise with the Network Emergency Coordinator to declare a Network Gas Supply Emergency.
In an emergency, the Customer must immediately follow any instructions the Network Emergency Coordinator, Gas Transporter or Supplier gives the Customer to reduce the amount of Gas the Customer takes at any Supply Point or to stop taking Gas completely.
The Network Emergency Coordinator, the Gas Transporter or the Supplier will tell the Customer, as soon as possible, when an emergency has begun and when it ends.
Network Emergency In this context refers to events falling within any of: (i) the Security and Emergency Measures (Water and Sewerage Undertakers) Direction 1998 (“SEMD”); (ii) the Security and Emergency Measures (Water Undertakers) Direction 2006; (iii) advice and guidance issued under the provisions of section 208 of the Water Industry Act 1991 and/or the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 or a national security event.
