Net floor area definition

Net floor area means the clear floor space, exclusive of fixed or built-in cabinets or appliances, included with the surrounding exterior walls or a building or portion thereof. The net floor area of a building, or portion thereof, not provided with surrounding exterior walls shall be the clear floor space under the horizontal pro- jection of the roof or floor above.
