NES definition

NES means the National Employment Standards prescribed by the Fair Work Act 2009(Cth) (as at 21 January 2011).

Examples of NES in a sentence

  • The NES Parental Leave provisions apply when:- • an employee gives birth; • an employee’s spouse / partner gives birth; • an employee adopts a child under sixteen (16) years of age.

  • Where there is an inconsistency between this agreement and the NES, and the NES provides a greater benefit, the NES provision will apply to the extent of the inconsistency.

  • An Employee is entitled to take parental leave in accordance with the NES.

  • This Agreement shall be read and interpreted in conjunction with the National Employment Standards (NES) provided that where there is any inconsistency between this Agreement and the NES, the more beneficial provision to an Employee shall take precedence.

  • In addition to annual leave, personal/carer's leave and compassionate leave, you will be entitled to take other types of leave in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) (Act) and the NES.
