Modified Work definition

Modified Work is any job, task, function or combination thereof that a firefighter who temporarily or permanently suffers from a diminished capacity as the result of a non-occupational injury/illness may perform safely without risk of re-injury or exacerbation of disability or risk to others. The work must be productive and the results of the work must have value. As per the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Corporation shall make every attempt to accommodate the injured worker. The procedure for assessment of the capacity of a firefighter to perform the duties of available modified work must be made in such a way as to protect the confidentiality of the firefighter’s medical information. The information provided to the Corporation shall be documented by the firefighter’s Treating Healthcare Professional on the Corporations Functional Abilities Form Non-WSIB. The information shall be limited to:
Modified Work means a new work of authorship created, at least in part, by modifying a Substance 3D Asset.
Modified Work means regular work modified so that the employee has the ability to perform all the functions of the job and that offers wages and compensation that are at least 85 percent of those paid to the employee at the time of injury, and located within a reasonable commuting distance of the employee's residence at the time of injury.

Examples of Modified Work in a sentence

  • Time employee - Regular part-time employee shall mean an employee hired to work on a partial day or partial week basis generally consisting of fewer hours than defined in the Regular or Modified Work Schedule in Article 18.

  • Except as provided for in this section or the Modified Work Week Guidelines (see note below), a modified work week program cannot be inconsistent or in conflict with the National Agreement.NOTE: (the modified work week guidelines are established in a Memorandum of Understanding which is part of the National Agreement).

  • Early Return to Work and Temporary Modified Work Programs may be available.

  • An employee who is able to return to work on the Modified Work Program shall do so subject to the Modified Work Program Guidelines.

  • Employees working a Modified Work Week Shift Schedule or whose work is averaged over multiple weeks as described in Article 18.5 shall receive eight (8) hours pay at their regular rate in addition to overtime at the rate of one and a half times (1½ X) their regular rate of pay for all hours worked on a general holiday.


More Definitions of Modified Work

Modified Work. If a person has restrictions and requires modified work, the Company’s first obligation will be to provide work within their own classification, then to one of the other classifications with this group prior to assigning to any other classifications. Any employee who posts into the Skilled Trades, Mold Processor, Mold Setters and Shipper/Receivers from any other classifications covered by the Collective Agreement will enter these classifications with date of entry seniority. In the event of a reduction in that classification, employees with date of entry seniority who are identified for layoff will be able to displace any other employee with lower seniority than their date of entry seniority. In the event there is no lower seniority employee in the other classifications; they can displace any other lower seniority employee in the newly certified groups (Maintenance, Mold Processors, Mold Setters, and Shipper/Receivers); provided they have previous experience in that classification. Total plant wide seniority would apply in that case. Employees of the newly certified groups who currently earn more than the above outlined classification wages shall have their wages red-circled and frozen for the period as defined above. Modified Work. If a person has restrictions and requires modified work, the Company’s first obligation will be to provide work within their own classification, then to one of the other classifications with this group prior to assigning to any other classifications. The Skilled Trades representative will not be a steady day committeeperson, however, if the trades representative is not on the day shift and is required to take his/her two (2) hours on Friday on day shift, they will have the option of:
Modified Work. Any work assignment other than the employee’s normal work where a temporary change in assignment is necessary due to the employee’s physical capabilities or medical suitability for his/her regular job.
Modified Work means temporary work assignment within the employee’s abilities, knowledge and skills. The work plan is designed using the employee’s functional abilities as determined by the treating Health Care Provider. They may also include responsibilities and tasks taken from the employee’s regular job, when the employee cannot perform full duties or normal hours of work.
Modified Work. – shall mean changes in a job’s tasks, the way a job’s tasks are completed, work schedules, hours of work, or a combination thereof as associated with a work-related (WSIB) injury/illness.
Modified Work means work that an employee can perform within restrictions imposed by a health care provider, but is different than the employee’s regular work or the employee’s regular work performed at a reduced level.
