Main Extension definition

Main Extension means an adjacent, parallel, or extended addition to the District's distribution system, consisting of a pipeline which is a nominal six (6) inches in diameter or greater, for the purpose of providing an adequate water supply. The District may require an increase in the length of a main extension beyond that required to serve a particular development in order to provide for the orderly development of the District's distribution system, improve water quality, and/or improve system reliability.

Main Extension means the Mains and appurtenances installed by the Utility to provide the sewer utility service requested by or on behalf of the Applicant or Prospective Customer, but does not include the Service Pipes.

Main Extension means the extension of water distribution mains beyond existing facilities in accordance with the provisions of the rules applicable to main extensions included herein.

Examples of Main Extension in a sentence

• If the Main Extension will serve more than one location, the Company will calculate the sum of the Estimated Annual Margin from all metered services and the sum of the Estimated Cost of Construction for the Main Extension and all Service Extensions to determine whether any payment will be required from the customers to be served.

• If any payment is required, it will be allocated equally among all current metered services that exist as of the date that the Main Extension becomes an Existing Gas Main.

• An extension of the new gas main portion of a Service and Main Extension.

• If any payment is required, it will be allocated among all current metered services that exist as of the date that the Main Extension becomes an Existing Gas Main based on each customer’s proportional share of the Estimated Annual Margin.

• If the Main Extension will serve both residential and commercial or industrial customers, the Company will determine whether a contribution will be required by the customers by calculating the difference between the Estimated Cost of Construction of the Main and Service Extensions and (i) six times the Estimated Annual Margin for all commercial and industrial customers to be served, plus (ii) eight times the Estimated Annual Margin for all residential customers to be served.

More Definitions of Main Extension

Main Extension means a pipeline added to Regional’s existing main for the purpose of service to one or more Customers and which is to become the property of Regional.
