Leq definition

Leq means the equivalent continuous Sound Level over periods of time as specified in this Bylaw at a specified location as measured by a Sound Level Meter.
Leq means the energy equivalent sound level or the continuous sound level that would result in the same total sound energy being produced over a given period of time;
Leq means the equivalent sound level, which is the constant sound level in a given time period that conveys the same sound energy as the actual time-varying A-weighted sound. The applicable time period for the Leq must be specified.

Examples of Leq in a sentence

  • The Construction noise levels were measured in terms of the A-weighted equivalent continuous sound pressure level (Leq).

  • Continuous baseline noise monitoring for the A-weighted levels Leq, L10 and L90 shall be carried out daily for a period of at least two weeks in a sample period of 5 minutes or 30 minutes between 0700 and 1900, and 5 minutes between 1900 and 0700.

  • At a minimum, all stationary noise sources at EW-3 and EW-4 shall be located within enclosed structures and with adequate noise control to maintain noise levels to no greater than 55 CNEL (or 48 dBA Leq assuming 24- hour per day operation), at the property lines of nearby residences.

  • Pursuant to the requirements of the Final EIR for the Project, Metro has directed that the Project be designed in such a manner so that one-hour groundborne noise and vibration levels (Leq) from operation of the Project (“Groundborne Noise”) will not exceed the Baseline Levels and therefore will not impact live performances in the auditorium of the Saban Theatre.

  • The construction noise impacts will be evaluated in terms of maximum levels (Lmax) and hourly equivalent continuous noise levels (Leq) and the frequency of occurrence at adjacent sensitive locations.

More Definitions of Leq

Leq means the equivalent (average) sound level reported in units of dBA.
Leq means the equivalent steady-state sound level, which in a stated period of time contains the same acoustic energy as the time-varying sound level during the same period. For purposes of measuring or predicting noise levels, a receptor is assumed to be at ear height, located five feet above ground surface.
Leq means the equivalent sound level, that is the constant sound level in a given time that conveys the same sound energy as the actual time-varying, A-weighted sound.
Leq means Lutheran Education Queensland as defined at clause 1.2(a)(i)(A) and Peace Lutheran Primary School Gatton as defined at clause 1.2(a)(i)(B);
Leq. (energy equivalent level) means the A-weighted sound level (as decibels {dBA}) of a constant or steady sound, for a stated period, which has an amount of acoustic energy equivalent to that contained in the sound being measured;
Leq means the equivalent sound level of a steady state sound which has the same sound energy as that contained in the actual time-varying sound being measured over a specific time period;
Leq means the equivalent steady-state sound level, which in a stated period of time contains the same acoustic energy as the time-varying sound level during the same period. “Leq(h)” means the hourly value of Leq.
