Index Figure definition

Index Figure means, subject as provided in Condition 5(c)(i), the U.K. Retail Price Index (RPl) (for all items) published by the Office for National Statistics (January 1987 = 100) or any comparable index which may replace the U.K. Retail Price Index for the purpose of calculating the amount payable on repayment of the Reference Gilt (the “RPI”). Any reference to the Index Figure:

Index Figure means the figure calculated by applying the Index to the facts relevant on the date the Variable Indexed Amount is calculated.

Index Figure means any Index Figure appropriate to sub-clause (1) of this Clause.‌

Examples of Index Figure in a sentence

• Where the provisions of Condition 4.3(ii) or Condition 4.3(iii) apply, the determination of the Indexation Adviser as to the Index Figure applicable to the month in which the date for payment falls or the date for payment, as the case may be, shall be conclusive and binding.

• If a substitute index is published as specified in 5.5(b)(i) above, a determination made based on that index shall be final and no further payment by way of adjustment shall be made, notwithstanding that the Index Figure applicable to the date for payment may subsequently be published.

• Where the provisions of this Condition 5.5(b) apply, the certificate of the Issuer (signed by two Directors), acting on the advice of an Expert, as to the Index Figure applicable to the date for payment falls shall be conclusive and binding upon the Issuer, the Guarantor (if the Issuer is ESB Finance), the Trustee and the Noteholders and Couponholders.

• If at any time the Index is changed by the substitution of a new base for it, then with effect from and including the date on which such substitution takes effect the definition of Base Index Figure in Condition 5.4(b) shall be amended to mean the product of the then applicable Base Index Figure and the Index immediately following such substitution, divided by the Index immediately prior to such substitution.

• Where the provisions of Condition 5(c)(ii) or Condition 5(c)(iii) apply, the determination of the Indexation Adviser as to the Index Figure applicable to the month in which the date for payment falls or the date for payment, as the case may be, shall be conclusive and binding.

Index Figure means the figure published at the relevant time in the Index;

Index Figure means, subject as provided in Condition 8.3 below, the United Kingdom Retail Prices Index (for all items) published by the United Kingdom Office for National Statistics (January 1987 = 100) (currently contained in the Monthly Digest of Statistics) or any subsequent index that, in the opinion of the Chancellor of the Exchequer after consultation with a body that the Chancellor of the Exchequer considers to be independent and to have a recognised expertise in the construction of price indices, continues the function of measuring changes in the level of UK retail prices. Any reference to the “Index Figure applicable” to a particular date when a payment of interest or principal falls due shall, subject as provided in this Condition 8, be calculated in accordance with the following formula: IFA = RPIm - 3 + (Day of Calculation Date - 1) x (RPIm - 2 - RPIm - 3) (Days in month of Calculation Date) and rounded to five decimal places (0.000005 being rounded upwards) and where:
