Higher Duties is an allowance that shall be paid to an employee who, at the request of the employer is substantially performing the duties and carrying the responsibilities of a position or grade higher than the employee’s own
Higher Duties means temporary assignment of duties at or above current classification.
Higher Duties refer to any duties carrying a higher rate of pay than the employee’s substantive classification (and including mixed functions).

Examples of Higher Duties in a sentence

  • When an Employee is temporarily assigned to perform Higher Duties in a Team Leader role within their department that is not covered by this Agreement, Higher Duties will be paid as the prescribed allowance in Schedule 1(b) in addition to the Employee’s Actual Rate of Pay for the duration of the temporary assignment.

  • Where an Employee is temporarily assigned to perform Higher Duties in a Senior role not covered by this Agreement, the Employee will be paid the relevant renumeration of the more senior position which is not classified under this Agreement for the duration of the temporary assignment.

  • Annual Leave Loading of 17.5% of an Employee’s Actual Rate of Pay (including Higher Duties) will be paid on Annual Leave taken or paid out on termination.

  • The allowance is applied by adding the below annual figures to an Employee’s Actual Rate of Pay (per annum) which results in the Employee being paid at this per annum rate for the time spent performing Higher Duties.

  • Higher Duties will not apply when an Employee is on an Acting Placement, as the Employee will be paid at the Minimum Rate of Pay prescribed for the classification applying to the role being performed.
