HHV definition

HHV means the total heat content, expressed in BTU per cubic foot (BTU/ft3), produced by the complete combustion of one (1) cubic foot of natural gas at a temperature of sixty (60) degrees Fahrenheit with the natural gas free of water vapor and at a pressure of 14.73 pounds per square inch absolute with the products of combustion to be cooled to the initial temperature of the natural gas and the water formed by the combustion reaction condensed to the liquid state.
HHV or “Higher Heating Value” means the amount of heat produced by the complete combustion of a unit quantity of fuel.

Examples of HHV in a sentence

  • Alternatively, the ten-year cumulative average net power of the fuel cell coupled with the fuel input rate (HHV) can be used to calculate the annual power generation (MWh) and fuel consumption (MMBtu) based upon an assumed capacity factor of 80%.
