Group care facility definition

Group care facility means an agency, other than a foster-family home, which is maintained and operated for the care of a group of children on a twenty-four hour basis;

These individuals are physically handicapped, aged, or disabled, and in need of adult supervision for those reasons and are provided service and supervision in accordance with their individual needs. This category includes foster or boarding homes for children, but not group homes.
Group care facility means a facility which provides residential accommodation for up to six persons, most or all of which are handicapped, aged, disabled, or in need of adult assistance and who are provided service or supervision, excluding foster homes. All dwelling units must adhere to the provisions of the Alberta Safety Codes Act.
