Environmental and Social Management Framework definition

Environmental and Social Management Framework or the acronym “ESMF” means the Framework dated July 26, 2010, and incorporated into the OM (as defined hereinafter), which sets out the principles and procedures for carrying out environmental and social assessments, and preparing and implementing environmental and social management plans in respect of the Project, including principles setting out a program of actions, measures and policies designed to maximize the benefits, eliminate, offset or mitigate any adverse social impacts associated with the Project, including any land acquisition, if required.
Environmental and Social Management Framework or “ESMF” means the framework included in the EA setting out modalities to be followed in assessing the potential adverse environmental and social impact associated with activities to be implemented under the Project, and the measures to be taken to offset, reduce, or mitigate such adverse impact.
Environmental and Social Management Framework or “ESMF” means the Environmental and Social Management Framework adopted by the Recipient, giving details of the actions, measures and policies designed to maximize the benefits of the Project, eliminate, offset or mitigate any adverse environmental impacts, or reduce such impacts to acceptable levels as such ESMF may be amended from time to time, subject to compliance with the same approval formalities as applied to the adoption of the ESMF.

  • The Recipient shall cause the Project Implementing Entity: (i) to carry out the Project in accordance with the provisions of the Environmental and Social Management Framework and the Resettlement Policy Framework, and (ii) unless the Association shall otherwise agree, not to amend or waive any provision thereof which in the opinion of the Association may adversely and materially affect the implementation of the Project.

  • The Project Implementing Entity shall ensure that the Project is implemented in accordance with the provisions of the Environmental and Social Management Framework, and Resettlement Policy Framework, and, except as the Association shall otherwise agree, the Project Implementing Entity shall not amend, abrogate, or waive, or permit to be amended, abrogated, or waived, any provision of the aforementioned.

  • The Recipient shall implement the Project, and shall ensure that the Project Implementing Entity implements the Project, in accordance with the guidelines, procedures, timetables and other specifications set forth in the Environmental and Social Management Framework and the Resettlement Policy Framework.

  • The Recipient shall carry out the Project in accordance with the environmental, social and resettlement guidelines, rules and procedures defined in the Environmental and Social Management Framework, and the Resettlement Policy Framework.

Environmental and Social Management Framework and “ESMF” means the Recipient’s framework dated November 30, 2010, which: (i) sets forth standards, methods and procedures specifying how technological research activities under the Project whose location, number and scale are presently unknown shall systematically address environmental and social issues in the screening and categorization, sitting, design, implementation and monitoring phases during Project implementation; (ii) systematizes the environmental and social impact assessment required for such activities before Project execution; and (iii) stipulates the procedures for conducting site-specific environmental impact assessments, be they limited environmental impact assessments or full environmental impact assessment.
Environmental and Social Management Framework means the Recipient’s document dated February 24, 2006 setting forth, inter alia, guidelines, procedures, timetable and other specifications designed to offset adverse environmental and social impacts related to Project activities, or to reduce them to acceptable levels, or to enhance positive impacts.
Environmental and Social Management Framework or “ESMF” means the Recipient’s framework for the Project dated April 2, 2007, setting forth mechanisms and guidelines for applying an environmental and social screening form to assist in determining potential environmental and social impacts of specific project activities as well as for implementation of mitigation measures of any adverse such impacts; an EA process for Project activities requiring a separate EA; institutional arrangements for review and clearance of screening results and EA reports; a template for the preparation of any Environmental Management Plan (EMP); and procedures for public consultations, monitoring and evaluation and disclosure of such assessments and plans.
Environmental and Social Management Framework or “ESMF” means the plan prepared and disclosed by the Borrower/Project Implementing Entity and the World Bank, dated April 13, 2017, setting out the modalities to be followed in assessing the potential adverse environmental and social impacts of Project activities (including impacts on natural habitat, forests, and physical cultural resources, as well as pest management measures) and the measures to be taken to offset, reduce or mitigate such adverse impacts; as well as for the preparation of environmental and social management plans, as such framework may be amended by the Borrower from time to time, with the prior written agreement of the World Bank.
Environmental and Social Management Framework means the Recipient’s framework, dated October 2006, agreed with the Association for the environmental and social screening process to be followed in identifying, assessing, and mitigating the potential adverse environmental and social impact associated with activities to be implemented under the Project, as the same may be updated from time to time with the concurrence of the Association, and such term includes any schedules to the Environmental and Social Management Framework.
Environmental and Social Management Framework means the Recipient’s document entitled “Etude d’Evaluation Environnementale et Sociale du Secteur des Transports”, dated November 2002, detailing: (a) the measures to be taken during the implementation and operation of Part B of the Project to eliminate or offset adverse environmental and social impacts, or to reduce them to acceptable levels, and (b) the actions needed to implement these measures, including monitoring and institution strengthening.
Environmental and Social Management Framework or “ESMF” means the framework adopted by the Recipient on Jan 13, 2004, describing the environmental planning, review, approval, mitigation, monitoring, training, technical assistance, and institutional measures under the Project referred to in Paragraph E of Schedule 4 to this Agreement;
