Environmental and Social Management Framework definition

Environmental and Social Management Framework or “ESMF” means the framework, dated January 2004, satisfactory to the Association, describing measures for the mitigation of the potential adverse environmental and social impact of the Project, as the same may be updated from time to time with the approval of the Association, to be applied by the Recipient in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1 of Part III of Schedule 4 to this Agreement;
Environmental and Social Management Framework or “ESMF” means the framework included in the EA setting out modalities to be followed in assessing the potential adverse environmental and social impact associated with activities to be implemented under the Project, and the measures to be taken to offset, reduce, or mitigate such adverse impact.
Environmental and Social Management Framework or “ESMF” means the document of the Recipient dated April 2009, as the said document may be amended and/or supplemented from time to time with the prior written concurrence of the Association, setting forth the modalities for environmental screening and procedures for the preparation and implementation of environmental assessments and management plans under the Project pursuant to Section I.D.1 of Schedule 2 to this Agreement, and such term includes all schedules and annexes to the ESMF.

  • The Recipient shall cause the Project Implementing Entity: (i) to carry out the Project in accordance with the provisions of the Environmental and Social Management Framework and the Resettlement Policy Framework, and (ii) unless the Association shall otherwise agree, not to amend or waive any provision thereof which in the opinion of the Association may adversely and materially affect the implementation of the Project.

  • The Project Implementing Entity shall ensure that the Project is implemented in accordance with the provisions of the Environmental and Social Management Framework, and Resettlement Policy Framework, and, except as the Association shall otherwise agree, the Project Implementing Entity shall not amend, abrogate, or waive, or permit to be amended, abrogated, or waived, any provision of the aforementioned.

  • The Recipient shall cause the Project Implementing Entity to ensure that the activities under the Project: (i) are carried out in accordance with the Environmental and Social Management Framework; and (ii) do not entail land acquisition or involuntary resettlement of persons and/or businesses.

  • The Recipient shall implement the Project, and shall ensure that the Project Implementing Entity implements the Project, in accordance with the guidelines, procedures, timetables and other specifications set forth in the Environmental and Social Management Framework and the Resettlement Policy Framework.

  • The Recipient shall carry out the Project in accordance with the environmental, social and resettlement guidelines, rules and procedures defined in the Environmental and Social Management Framework, and the Resettlement Policy Framework.


More Definitions of Environmental and Social Management Framework

Environmental and Social Management Framework and “ESMF” means the Recipient’s framework dated November 30, 2010, which: (i) sets forth standards, methods and procedures specifying how technological research activities under the Project whose location, number and scale are presently unknown shall systematically address environmental and social issues in the screening and categorization, sitting, design, implementation and monitoring phases during Project implementation; (ii) systematizes the environmental and social impact assessment required for such activities before Project execution; and (iii) stipulates the procedures for conducting site-specific environmental impact assessments, be they limited environmental impact assessments or full environmental impact assessment.
Environmental and Social Management Framework and “ESMF” mean the Recipient’s framework, approved by the Association and adopted in January 2011, setting out the screening procedures for Project activities as well as the mitigation measures, including monitoring, communication and documentation protocols, in order to address any adverse environmental and social impacts that might occur in relation to the Project.

Environmental and Social Management Framework or “ESMF” means the plan prepared and disclosed by the Borrower/Project Implementing Entity and the World Bank, dated April 13, 2017, setting out the modalities to be followed in assessing the potential adverse environmental and social impacts of Project activities (including impacts on natural habitat, forests, and physical cultural resources, as well as pest management measures) and the measures to be taken to offset, reduce or mitigate such adverse impacts; as well as for the preparation of environmental and social management plans, as such framework may be amended by the Borrower from time to time, with the prior written agreement of the World Bank.
