Emergency Medical Evacuation means (1) the insured person’s medical condition warrants immediate transportation from the place where he is sick or injured to the nearest hospital where appropriate medical treatment can be obtained; (2) after being treated at a local hospital, his medical condition warrants transportation to the country where the trip commenced to obtain further medical treatment or to recover, or both (1) and (2) above.

Emergency Medical Evacuation means the removal of the Insured Person for Emergency Care from abroad to a hospital within India where necessary medical care can be accorded to him, including medical care required en route.

• If the local attending Physician and Our designated Travel Assistance Services Provider cannot adequately assess Your need for Emergency Medical Evacuation or transportation, and a Physician is dispatched by the Travel Assistance Services Provider to make such assessment, benefits will be paid for the travel expenses incurred and medical services provided by the dispatched Physician.

• Following an Emergency Medical Evacuation or a covered Injury or Sickness, We will pay for Medical Evacuation expenses to return You to Your point of origin, Your Primary Residence, or to a Hospital or medical facility closest to Your Primary Residence capable of providing continued treatment.

• All other indemnities of this Policy shall be payable to the Insured Person or if the Insured Person is below age of 18 years, to the legal guardian on behalf of the Insured Person, except under Section 2 – Education Fund, Section 6 - Emergency Medical Evacuation and Section 7 - Repatriation of remains where relevant amounts will be paid directly to the OEI or provider of services in accordance with the terms of this Policy.

• If the local attending Physician cannot adequately assess Your need for Emergency Medical Evacuation or transportation, and a Physician is dispatched to make such assessment, benefits will be paid for the travel expenses incurred and medical services provided by the dispatched Physician.

• Under this benefit, We will cover expenses for services provided and/or arranged by Us for the transportation of the Insured Person and shall include medical services and cost for medical supplies necessarily incurred as a result of the Emergency Medical Evacuation.

Emergency Medical Evacuation means Your medical condition warrants immediate Transportation from the place where You are injured or sick to the nearest Hospital where appropriate medical treatment can be obtained. ”Emergency Sickness” means an illness or disease, diagnosed by a legally licensed Physician, which meets all of the following criteria: (1) there is a present severe or acute symptom requiring immediate care and the failure to obtain such care could reasonably result in serious deterioration of Your condition or place Your life in jeopardy; (2) the severe or acute symptom occurs suddenly and unexpectedly; and (3) the severe or acute symptom occurs while Your coverage is in force and during Your Covered Trip.

Emergency Medical Evacuation means: 1) the Covered Person’s immediate transportation from the place where he or she suffers an Injury or Sickness to the nearest hospital or other medical facility where appropriate medical treatment can be obtained; or 2) the Covered Person’s transportation to his or her home country to obtain further medical treatment in a hospital or other medical facility or to recover after suffering an Injury or Sickness. An Emergency Medical Evacuation also includes medically necessary medical treatment, medical services, and medical supplies necessarily received in connection with such transportation.

Emergency Medical Evacuation means: (a) the Insured’s medical condition warrants immediate transportation from the place where the Insured is injured to the nearest hospital where appropriate medical treatment can be obtained as determined at our or the External Service Provider’s sole discretion; and/or (b) after being treated at a local hospital, the Insured’s medical condition warrants transportation to Singapore to obtain further medical treatment.

Emergency Medical Evacuation means the Insured’s: 1) immediate transportation from the place where he/she suffer an Injury or Emergency Sickness to the nearest Hospital or other medical facility where appropriate medical treatment can be obtained; or 2) transportation to his/her Home Country to obtain further medical treatment in a Hospital or other medical facility or to recover after suffering an Injury or an Emergency Sickness.

Emergency Medical Evacuation. When an adequate medical facility is not available to the Eligible Participant, as determined by the AAI physician and the consulting physician, evacuation under appropriate medical supervision, by the mode of transport necessary, to the nearest medical facility capable of providing required care. Medical Repatriation: When medically necessary as determined by the AAI physician and the attending physician, repatriation under medical supervision to the Eligible Participant’s residence, at such time as the Eligible Participant is medically cleared for travel by commercial carrier. If the time period to receive medical clearance to travel by common carrier exceeds fourteen days from the date of discharge from the hospital, an alternative, appropriate mode of transportation may be arranged, such as an air ambulance. Medical or non-medical escorts may be provided as necessary. Medical Monitoring: Monitoring of Eligible Participant’s condition by medical personnel who will (i) stay in regular communication with the attending physician and/or hospital and (ii) relay necessary and legally permissible information to family members. Transportation to Join Eligible Participant. When an Eligible Participant is traveling alone and will be hospitalized for more than seven consecutive days, AAI will provide economy, round-trip, common carrier transportation to the major airport closest to the place of hospitalization to a person designated by the Eligible Participant. It is the responsibility of the family member or the friend to meet all visa and document requirements, if applicable.

Emergency Medical Evacuation means the removal of a Member from one country to another country to enable such Member to have requisite medical attention; “Emergency Medical Repatriation” means the repatriation of a Member to his Country of Residence after having received requisite medical attention;
