EIAs definition
EIAs means the Borrower’s environmental impact assessment, acceptable to the Bank consisting of inter alia: (i) a description of the site where construction activities are to be carried out under Part A of the Project and the justification for said activities; (ii) the actual or potential environmental impact of the construction activities referred to under sub-paragraph (i) above; and (iii) an environmental management plan setting forth adequate mitigating measures and systems required to monitor the implementation of the construction activities referred to under sub-paragraph (i) above and to ensure compliance of such activities with said measures with a view to limiting any actual and potential adverse environmental impact.
EIAs means the Environmental Impact Assessment(s) identifying the potential environmental impacts of the Project activities and Sub-projects which include evaluation of potential alternatives, as well as appropriate mitigation, management, and monitoring measures, satisfactory to the Association.
EIAs means the following Environmental Impact Assessments:
(i) the Environmental Impact Assessment dated March 2005 prepared by the Environment Assessment Office of Jilin University for Changchun Water Supply Subcomponent (Subcomponent 1.1);
(ii) the Environmental Impact Assessment dated April 2007 prepared by Jilin Petrochemical Institute for the Changchun Wastewater Management Subcomponent (Subcomponent 1.2);
(iii) the Environmental Impact Assessment dated March 2006 prepared by Changchun Environment Protection Research Institute for the Changchun Solid Waste Management Subcomponent (Subcomponent 1.3);
(iv) the Environmental Impact Assessment dated December 2006 prepared by China Urban Construction Northeast Design Institute for the Yanji Water Supply Subcomponent (Subcomponent 2.1);
(v) the Environmental Impact Assessment dated August 2004 prepared by Jilin Environment Technology Development Company Limited and Jilin Environment Science and Protection Technology Company Limited for Yanji Wastewater Management Subcomponent (Subcomponent 2.2);
(vi) the Environmental Impact Assessments dated December 2006 prepared by China Urban Engineering Northeast Design Institute for the Yanji Thermal Power Plant Heating Networks Subcomponent (Subcomponent 3.1); and
(vii) the Environmental Impact Assessment dated December 2006 prepared by China Electric Power Corporation Northeast Electric Energy Institute for the Yanji Central Heating Secondary Networks Subcomponent (Subcomponent 3.2);
More Definitions of EIAs
EIAs means the environmental impact assessment reports prepared in relation to the Project and cleared by ADB;
EIAs means the assessment to be carried out for Sub-projects (as defined) requiring such assessment in accordance with the requirements of the Operations Manual.
EIAs means Environmental Impact Assessment(s), which is prepared for each Subproject as indicated in the following:
(i) EIA for the Altay Subproject dated 2 June 2008, prepared by the Xinjiang Ecology and Geology Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and approved by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Environmental Protection Bureau;
(ii) EIA for the Changji Subproject dated 2 June 2008, prepared by Lehigh Design and Research Institute and approved by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Environmental Protection Bureau;
(iii) EIA for the Hami Subproject dated 2 June 2008, prepared by Lehigh Design and Research Institute and approved by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Environmental Protection Bureau;
(iv) EIA for the Kuitun Subproject dated 2 June 2008, prepared by Xinjiang Environmental Protection Technical Consulting Center and approved by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Environmental Protection Bureau; and
(v) EIA for the Turpan Subproject dated 2 June 2008, prepared by Lehigh Design and Research Institute and approved by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Environmental Protection Bureau;
EIAs means Environmental Impact Assessment(s), which is prepared for each Subproject or Subprojects of the Project, including (A) those to be prepared for the Subsequent Subprojects and (B) those for the Selected Subprojects as indicated in the following:
(i) EIA for the Pinyao Subproject dated September 2008, prepared by Pingyao County Development and Reform Bureau and approved by SPEPB;
(ii) EIA for the Wutong Subproject dated October 2008, prepared by Xiaoyi City Government and Xiaoyi City ADB Loan Leading Group and approved by SPEPB; and
(iii) EIA for the Youyu Subproject dated September 2008, prepared by Youyu County Development and Reform Bureau and approved by SPEPB;
EIAs means Environmental Impact Assessments, including (A) an environmental impact assessment for the Project prepared by China Hydro Electricity Consultancy Group and Guiyang Survey Engineering Design Institute dated November 2008,
EIAs means, collectively, the environmental and social impact assessment studies dated March 2009 acceptable to the Association, prepared by the Project Implementing Entity for each of the three roads being upgraded under Part 1 of the Project, and such term includes any schedules to each of the said studies.
EIAs means the following Environmental Impact Assessments:
(i) Environmental Impact Assessments dated June 2007 prepared by Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of Chinese Academy of Sciences for the Yining Component;
(ii) Environmental Impact Assessments dated June 2007 prepared by Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of Chinese Academy of Sciences for the Alashankou Component; and
(iii) Environmental Impact Assessments dated June 2007 prepared by Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of Chinese Academy of Sciences for the Kanas Component;
