Effluent limitations definition

Effluent limitations means any restriction estab- lished by the state of Washington or the administrator on quantities, rates and concentrations of chemical, physical, biological and other constituents which are discharged from point sources into surface waters, the waters of the state, including schedules of compliance.

Effluent limitations means a specific, numeric, measurable set of limits on the amount of various pollutants that are placed on point source discharges through the national pollutant discharge elimination system (NPDES). For a remining NPDES permit that uses non-numeric limitations, "effluent limitations" means the best management practice as required under that NPDES permit.
