Defect Liability Period means the period of validity of the warranties given by the Contractor commencing at Completion of the Facilities or a part thereof, during which the Contractor is responsible for defects with respect to the Facilities (or the relevant part thereof) as provided in GCC Clause 27(Defect Liability) hereof.

Defect Liability Period in relation to a work means the specified period from the date of COMPLETION CERTIFICATE upto the date of issue of FINAL CERTIFICATE during which the CONTRACTOR stands responsible for rectifying all defects that may appear in the works executed by the CONTRACTOR in pursuance of the CONTRACT and includes warranties against Manufacturing/Fabrication/ Erection/Construction defects covering all materials plants, equipment, components, and the like supplied by the CONTRACTOR, works executed against workmanship defects.

Defect Liability Period means a period of 1 year from the certified date of virtual completion issued by the Consultant/Engineer-in-charge and accepted by the Employer.

More Definitions of Defect Liability Period

Defect Liability Period means the period of validity of the warranties given by the contractor during which the contractor is responsible for defects with respect to the Stores or the relevant part thereof as provided in GCC clause 6.4 (Defect Liability).

Defect Liability Period means one year following commissioning of line on load and Taking Over during which the Contractor is responsible for making good defects and damage in accordance with Clause-30.

However, in the case of specialist contracts like for anti-termite treatment, water proofing treatment and the like the period of warranty in such contracts shall supersede the defect liability period, and the defect liability period of twelve months shall stand extended to be equal to the warranty period.
