Deadhead definition

Deadhead means operating a bus when no passengers are on board.
Deadhead means time spent by a Flight Attendant, not as a working crew member, traveling either by air or surface between two points to or from flight duty, Temporary Duty, or training at the direction of the Company.
Deadhead miles are not to be included, and will not be compensated. The rates below include all costs associated with provision of these services, including, but not limited to: gasoline; compensation to drivers; overhead; and maintenance. A typical “live mile” run per trip shall be between 15-25 miles in length. MPS will however compensate any trip deadhead exceeding 10 miles in length, including that excess within the live mile total. Examples of Deadhead in a sentence

  • Any Duty Period beginning with Deadhead will be measured from the scheduled departure time of the first Deadhead segment.

  • Flight Attendants will provide the company their frequent flyer numbers issued by various commercial carriers to facilitate the booking of commercial Deadhead flights, including issuance of seat assignments, and ascertaining the appropriate checked baggage fee.

  • Permission to deviate from a tail-end Deadhead in all other circumstances will be awarded at Company discretion and will not be unreasonably denied.

  • The written notification of the deviation request must be received by the Scheduling Department no less than three (3) days in advance of the scheduled Deadhead commercial flight.

Deadhead means the transport by air or surface vehicle of a pilot from one 8 point to another pursuant to Company orders.

Unless otherwise specified, MPS shall not pay invoices submitted more than 60 days after actual work. In the case of grant funding, no payments shall be made after grant close out.
