Deadhead definition
Deadhead means operating a bus when no passengers are on board.
Deadhead means time spent by a Flight Attendant, not as a working crew member, traveling either by air or surface between two points to or from flight duty, Temporary Duty, or training at the direction of the Company.
Deadhead miles are not to be included, and will not be compensated. The rates below include all costs associated with provision of these services, including, but not limited to: gasoline; compensation to drivers; overhead; and maintenance. A typical “live mile” run per trip shall be between 15-25 miles in length. MPS will however compensate any trip deadhead exceeding 10 miles in length, including that excess within the live mile total. Ambulatory $3.75 OI Wheelchair $4.90 These rates are firm for the Initial Term. Should the option years be exercised, prices for those terms of the Contract will be adjusted as identified in the RFB. In the instance of a student “no show”, as defined in ¶ 1 of this Contract, MPS will pay the scheduled mileage for a routed student. No minimum trip charges or other charges such as “first mile” will be considered. MPS reserves the right to determine in its sole discretion whether services have been adequately and fully delivered; to withhold payment until services are fully and adequately delivered; or to disallow a pro rata share of payments for services not fully and adequately delivered. Examples of Deadhead in a sentence
Any Duty Period beginning with Deadhead will be measured from the scheduled departure time of the first Deadhead segment.
Flight Attendants will provide the company their frequent flyer numbers issued by various commercial carriers to facilitate the booking of commercial Deadhead flights, including issuance of seat assignments, and ascertaining the appropriate checked baggage fee.
Permission to deviate from a tail-end Deadhead in all other circumstances will be awarded at Company discretion and will not be unreasonably denied.
The written notification of the deviation request must be received by the Scheduling Department no less than three (3) days in advance of the scheduled Deadhead commercial flight.
A Flight Attendant may request to deviate from a tail-end commercial Deadhead flight where the cost of the requested deviation flight and any additional fees associated with the deviation (e.g. change fee, cancellation fee, ground transportation) is equal to or less than the scheduled Deadhead flight.

Deadhead means the transport by air or surface vehicle of a pilot from one 8 point to another pursuant to Company orders.

As a matter of practice, MPS attempts to pay all invoices in 30 days. It is mutually agreed that State Prompt pay law does not apply to this Contract. Unless otherwise specified, MPS shall not pay invoices submitted more than 60 days after actual work. In the case of grant funding, no payments shall be made after grant close out. Final invoices must be marked as such.
Deadhead means the vehicle miles and hours of operation incurred in non-revenue service in support of revenue service (i.e. miles and hours from the garage to the beginning of a route).
Deadhead means travel by air or surface transportation between work locations at the Company’s request to meet the requirements of service. For further clarity, deadhead does not include transportation between the Flight Attendant’s hotel and the airport. Flight Attendants are compensated for a deadhead with fifty percent (50%) of the flight time only. On a day when the deadhead is an Employee’s only work, that Employee will receive the greater of fifty percent (50%) of the flight time or two (2) hours for that day.
