Contamination definition

Contamination means the presence of, or Release on, under, from or to the environment of any Hazardous Substance, except the routine storage and use of Hazardous Substances from time to time in the ordinary course of business, in compliance with Environmental Laws and with good commercial practice.
Contamination means an impairment of the quality of the waters of the state by waste to a degree which creates a hazard to the public health through poisoning or through the spread of disease. “Contamination” includes any equivalent effect resulting from the disposal of waste, whether or not waters of the state are affected.

Examples of Contamination in a sentence

  • Tenant shall, at its expense, monitor the Premises for the presence of Hazardous Materials or conditions which may reasonably give rise to Contamination (defined below) and promptly notify Landlord if it suspects Contamination in the Premises.

  • Any remediation of Contamination caused by a Tenant Party or its contractors or invitees which is required by Law or which is deemed necessary by Landlord, in Landlord’s opinion, shall be performed by Landlord and Tenant shall reimburse Landlord for the cost thereof, plus a 15% administrative fee.
