Co-op Student definition

Co-op Student means a person employed by the Employer for a fixed duration, which links classroom instruction with paid employment, for the purposes of providing employability skills while applying in business settings what they have studied in university.
Co-op Student means a person working on the Campus on a cooperative work/study program.
Co-op Student means any person placed in a Department in conjunction with the curriculum of a recognized educational institution and shall be enrolled in a co-op education program in which the standard summer vacation period is not used. “Co-op Students”, because they are enrolled in a co-op educational program, may be hired for periods outside the traditional vacation period.

Examples of Co-op Student in a sentence

  • A contract will be suspended for those full academic semesters during the contract period that the student is required by the University to live elsewhere to complete their academic program (Co-op, Student Teaching, etc.).

  • A contract which has been signed and returned by the student and accepted by the University, will be suspended for those full academic semesters during the contract period that the student is required by the University to live elsewhere in order to complete his/her academic program (Co-op, Student Teaching, etc.).

  • Any individual Co-op Student will not be assigned to any job or classification covered by this Agreement for a period in excess of six (6) months at a time.

More Definitions of Co-op Student

Co-op Student means an employee who is enrolled full-time in a post-secondary CO-OP program in an accredited institution and whose assignment at IDRC is eligible for credits towards the CO-OP program in which the employee is enrolled. “day of restin relation to a full-time employee means a day other than a holiday on which that employee is not ordinarily required to perform the duties of his or her position other than by reason of the employee being on leave or absent from duty without permission.

A person hired in the classification of “Co-op Student” shall be under the direct supervision of an employee at the top step of the Section. No “Co-op Student” classification shall be assigned to a section that has regular full-time, non-continuous full time, or part time employees laid-off or bumped There shall be no regular full-time or non-continuous full-time, or part time employees laid-off while “students” are employed in that section. Co-op Student employees shall not accumulate seniority or vacation credits. Co-op Student employees shall not be entitled to any Health and Pension benefits as per Articles XXVII and XXVIII and Sick Leave benefits as per Article XV. Vacation Pay shall be paid as per the Canada Labour Code.
Co-op Student. Means a person who is engaged in a recognized work/study program at a school or university whose course of study requires or permits the student to participate in study related work programs as an integral part of the certificate, degree, or diploma. A Co-op student will be compensated at eighty percent (80%) of the classification for which they are hired. Co-op students pay Union dues but are not entitled to any accrual benefits, pension or medical benefits.

Co-op Student means a student currently engaged in a co-­‐operative work term;
Co-op Student means a person registered as a full time student acquiring hospitality related course credits hired for a specific period not to exceed six (6) months in duration. The full provisions of the collective agreement shall apply with the following exceptions: Articles 5, 6, 12, 15, 16, 17, 23.10, 23.
